Palpatine: Official Worst Dad.
Unlike most glowfic characters, Lily-Palpatines don't have clear or straightforward clusters. Instead, they have tracks, with various stations representing how they develop. Everyone starts out at the Baby station, and the main tracks branch from there. Some tracks branch again later down the line, but are generally treated as sub-tracks. They can sometimes move between tracks, though it's rare. The main tracks are Lily, Palpatine, and Travere. Non-Track and Special Stations:Baby StationBaby station Lily Palpatines have a world of possibilities before them. They're born very strong in dark-coded magic if that's possible. They always stand out even as infants though, one way or another, and they often have biological parents who fear them and single them out for abuse. They're pre-track and have the highest flexibility of all the stations. This station always ends before puberty, sometimes before they're past the point of childhood amnesia.[shifting]Special quasi-track for Lily Palpatines that reincarnate, loop, or undergo frequent mind wipes/ total personality changes, with some continuity between iterations.?!?!¡¿¡¿Lily:Stations: Young Apprentice Master Palpatine:Main Stations: Young Apprentice ChancellorChancellors are Palpatines who have ended their apprenticeship, usually via murder. They're more sure of themselves, and therefore more firm in their (evil) convictions. They're capable of playing well with others, though, and usually keep up a facade of lawful good. Externally, they can resemble Soldier or Queen Traveres, or Master Lilys at this point. However, in secret they are gathering enough power to transition to the Emperor station.The point of transition between Apprentice and Chancellor stations is unstable; Palpatines have a chance of Derailing instead at this point. Self-TaughtSelf-Taught Palpatines, like Traveres, lack a mentor. Unlike Traveres, they grow up in a fucked up situation with leadership they strongly disagree with. However, the lack of a mentor means they must rely on their own moral judgment. They often appear similar to Derailed Palpatines, minus the intervening steps. They tend to seek out deep romantic/ friendship relationships (usually a 2B (moss) or Fate (heartsblood)) for stability/ motivation. Derailed Travere:Traveres emerge from societies where they either agree with the existing hierarchy, or where they have a mentor they trust and wish to elevate to power in their stead. Many Traveres lack any significant mentor. Traveres are not ambitious. They're submissive, with some preferring to occupy a middle role in a hierarchy (have both a dom and a sub). Stations:
QueenQueen Traveres rose to power accidentally, reluctantly, or outright unwillingly in a society they didn't see as in need of dramatic fixes. Some of them inherited from a mentor they were loyal to. They're often wise, considered, caring rulers, with significant personality overlap with Master Lily.Special Stations:
