"You are," Elesse agrees.

"It's - not surprising, if that makes you nervous. We have a lot of power over you. And it wouldn't be surprissing if you were mad at us for it."

"...I don't wanna be mad at you guys."

Hug.

"Do you remember when we talked about not hiding from your emotions or squishing them up? How it's better to be honest even if you don't like what you're feeling?"

"Yeah... But." There's something big she's scared of and it might be something about her parents knowing. 

Hug. "We'll always love you, Anakin. No matter what."

Also hug! "Nothing you think or do could change that."

"Being angry about not being allowed freedom... That's normal."

And, quietly: "I wouldn't have any room to judge you on it." Her voice drops again, until she's barely audible. "I killed my own parents for trying to control who I spent time with. Even though the man they were trying to separate from me was - obviously creepy, to anyone paying attention. Obviously trying to isolate and use me for his own ends."

Quiet hugs.

"Do you want- suggestions?"

"Yeah."

"Nexuha and her Elesse said there's planets where kids have the same rights as adults. And my social studies teacher said that planets have to respect each other's citizenship stuff."

"You want to go to one of those planets and get emancipated?"

Smile! "Yeah. I do."

Hair ruffle. "Then we'll give you a ride over there, fuzzball."

Hugs!

"Back too, if you still want."

Giggle. "Probably! But having a house both places would be cool."

"You know... Naboo allows emancipation of children, under certain circumstances."

Hug!!! "That'd be good!"

"You'll have to start your own family if you want to do it there."

"And you'll need to already be claimed by a House - though, with the emancipation we can have those records sealed, so the security risk of being linked to the name Palpatine should be lower..."

Hmmm. "Mama, do you want me to keep being a Palpatine?" She knows vaguely that a lot of parents especially from noble households care about that. 

Hair pets. And, quietly: "I - wouldn't object, if the House of Palpatine ended with me. You're the only thing I'm proud of in it. And I want you to be happy."

"I can found the Kitty House then!"

"That'd be on brand for you."

Though Elesse thinks Lyli needs some reassuring pets too.

(Yeah. Good thing they're already all cuddling. Makes this easier.)
