Isabella is in some danger of catching up on her reading list. She'll just have to cultivate more interests. She could probably get into Klingon literature if she tried, she didn't give it a fair shake last time really. Their opera is more widely renowned but they do have some plainly written narratives.
"I wasn't doing anything that would tend to alleviate boredom. Or, I guess that's not quite the case, warp drive does generally make the news, but I don't think anyone would find their lives became more boring after my imprisonment."
"Surprisingly, no! Day to day it's much the same being alone in a cell versus alone on a ship. In the long run I suppose books aren't a sure win against studying a new planet to decide how to disseminate the equations, but it's close."
"Well I do hope I can keep this next phase of your life from being as equally dull as the last two."
"What do you do when you're not getting to know persons you broke out of prison?"
"Oh meeting new species, inventing new physics, debating philosophy, designing floral arrangements."
"Flower arrangements! I would've never guessed. Are the new physics implemented anywhere or just a thought experiment?"
"There's a bubble of spacetime I'll use if it's anything particularly interesting."
And here is a flower bouquet for his charming date, with white roses contrasted against golden flower that she's likely unfamiliar with.
"Oh, how pretty!" Does this dress by any chance have a tall vertical pocket, or a bag, or does she just need to carry these in her hand.
"It is when the bag appears on my person. Handing me one would be unobjectionable." She bags the bouquet anyway.
"I appreciate the accommodation to my sensibilities."
The Davlians are kind of disconcerted by the castle but none of them go so far as to say that it has to be moved or to suggestively mention a place it would look nicer in or anything.
And she sets out into the castle in search of a) a general sense of the layout and contents and b) a vase.
The castle has four main above ground stories, at least one level of a dungeon, a library, two pair of kitchens and dining rooms, well over a dozen bedrooms, and one tower that rises up with a spiral staircase to provide views and a reading room. The backyard contains a garden, fountains, and hedge maze.
She can find a vase in either kitchen.
"It's pretty! Is it a copy or did you plot it all out yourself?" she asks, plopping the flowers in a vase and filling it up with water.
