The kobold nods and disappears.

A few minutes later, her borrowed alarm clock having done its job, she appears in the hallway on Dromund Kaas. It's precisely 0845.

The hallway is empty, except for the droid. One door a little further down is open.

She keeps an ear out for sounds from the direction of the door, and approaches the droid. "Hello again."

It straightens, and its photoreceptors light up.

"You are the one I was told to watch for," it says in a clipped, mechanical voice. "Do you wish to know Darth Occlus's whereabouts?"

...huh, okay.

"Yes, please."

Its eyes dim for a moment then brighten.

"She is in her office. Two doors down." The eyes go dark and it returns to its resting state.

That's going to be the open one, isn't it.

She goes to it and, assuming this inference is correct, stops just outside the threshold and waits to be acknowledged.

It is indeed the open one. Occlus is bent over something at her desk.

"You're early," she says without looking up.

"Mmhmm; I wasn't sure how long it would take to find you. I can wait."

"Good."

And so she does. 'Parade rest' isn't a familiar enough concept for her to adopt one, but she does a pretty good 'guard-kobold not making themselves available for interaction', anyway.

Thirteen minutes later, Occlus stands up.

"Let us depart."

She nods. "One moment."

Mage-sense: Is Occlus carrying her portal loop, or anything else the kobold might not want her to have?

Just the hoop.

"I'd rather you leave the portal hoop here, please."

"Very well."

Occlus places it on her desk.

"Thank you."

The kobold offers Occlus her hand, simultaneously reaching into a belt pouch with the other one to touch the gold-glowing pebble. The same act of intentionality teleports her and Occlus to one vestibule and opens a one-way portal for Satele to step into the other.

Satele enters her portal when it appears, and gets to the meeting room as Occlus and the kobold show up.

The kobold approaches the table, keeping apace of Occlus, and breaks off to go stand at one end of it while the two of them sit.

"Thank you both for coming. I hope this meeting will be useful to both of you."

She glances at Occlus, to see if the Sith seems inclined to start the discussion, expecting not.

A correct expectation.

She continues smoothly, looking to Satele. "I believe you were the most interested in being here today; would you like to start?"

"Certainly. It is my hope that we may come to an arrangement whereby no more lives need be lost."

The kobold nods. To Occlus: "Do you have an idea of what you might need, in order to be able to consider that?"

"Yes."

The kobold gives Occlus a querying look.
