Plausible enough! Here she is, concentrating on a stick.

And here is the kobold, sitting beside her. Leeean.

Ana is pretty absorbed in this spell she's casting. She doesn't notice right away.

That's okay, the kobold is patient.

A couple minutes later, Ana finishes the spell and drops out of the trance.

"Hey! When did you get here?"

"Not very long." A grin, then serious. "How sure are you that nobody's going to tap you on the shoulder or something to try to get your attention while you're casting?"

"Pretty sure? No one really comes here that much."

Nod. "You should probably be more sure than that." And then Ana is hugged, and the subject is dropped. "The meeting went pretty well; it could have been better but that's my fault. There'll be another one in a few days, probably; it's up to Master Satele."

"I'm sure you did your best. How was it your fault?"

The kobold wrinkles her nose. "I overestimated how much Occlus trusted me, and they ended up finding out about the exile plan and now they feel threatened." She sighs. "Which isn't unreasonable, but it's really bad timing for them to realize that now."

Hug.

Ana won't say anything about Sith and trust and how those concepts don't intersect.

Hug.

"Anyway, it could really have gone worse, too, so I'm not too disappointed. Mostly they just want to be left alone, like I was hoping, and Satele isn't completely opposed to the idea."

"Okay. Sooooo.... what are you going to do with the rest of the day?"

This gets a grin. "We ran into an old friend of mine in Milliways on the way back - Raafi of Tales, they're great. I want to go have lunch with them and I bet they'll keep me for the afternoon - probably dinner and half the night, too, actually."

"Have fun!"

Hug!

"You can come if you want, there's a pretty good chance you'll be meeting them sooner or later anyway."

"I can't, I have to Do Stuff this afternoon. Maybe another day."

"All right." Grin, lean. "I'll see you in the morning, then." Poof!

Ana goes back to spellcasting.

The next morning, the kobold is at breakfast at the usual time, with a substantially larger offering of fruit than usual including another new kind.

Ana hugs the kobold, and takes two pieces of fruit.

The kobold grins and leans on her. "So, I guess they've decided I can do without you, if you're being asked to do things again?"

"I guess! Don't think you're getting away from me that easily, though!"

The kobold giggles. "I wouldn't dare."

"Good!" Hug.

Nom nom breakfast.
