Satele smiles.

"A clever solution. I wager that most Sith do indeed think of their lightsabers in a similar fashion. It should not be hard to ensure that all Sith in a given confrontation engage the Jedi present. We should be able to contain the information fairly well."

The kobold smiles, too. "Good." A pause, to see if Satele has anything else to say, and then she offers her hand. "The cafeteria?"

"Yes, thank you."

And here they are in the cafeteria. The kobold grins and bows slightly to Satele, and goes to look for Ana.

Ana is sitting at their usual table in the cafeteria. She already has a tray of food. She waves to the kobold.

The kobold goes and sits and summons a meal from Milliways. (Tomatoes stuffed with potato hash, and one for Ana.)

"So," she says once she's settled in, "what do you think of helping me with some spell testing tomorrow afternoon?"

"Sounds like fun. What kind of spells?"

"A prototype of the exiling spell. It turns out that if I make you a spellbearer it'll affect your lightsabers too, so it'll actually be really easy, but I want to check that if you hit someone with an enspelled lightsaber they're teleported before they're hurt, or at least before they're hurt badly. Not that you'll usually need to, I think."

"Sure, I can help with that."

Nom nom.

Nom. Lean.

"I talked to Satele about our friend from yesterday, too," she says, conversationally. "They'd like to talk to them, so I'm planning on spending a few days away to see if I can find an opportunity to suggest it."

"Oh. Um. Be careful?"

She nods. "I will. I'll be adding to my defensive spells before I go, if you have any suggestions for that."

"Remind me what you already have?"

"If I'm too scared to teleport on my own, or in pain at about the level of a broken bone, or losing a dangerous amount of blood," she ticks them off on her fingers as she goes, "or startled enough, or if someone tries to use the force on me at all. And I'm going to add spells for electricity and unexpected impacts."

"What about poisons? Either direct or something that could mess with your perceptions and not let you realize you're being attacked?"

Hmm.

"I can make sure to only eat things from Milliways - I don't think it'll be too suspicious if I don't eat with them at all, I wasn't before. I might be able to defend against airborne poisons - that's actually a good idea in general - but I won't know if it'll work without testing, and that sounds hard."

"How quick are your spells's reaction time? What if someone shoots at you or sneaks up behind you?"

"Very quick, once the trigger condition is met. I'd have to be hurt for the pain or bleeding ones to go off, but for the force one it's just barely possible to touch me, and the impact one should be the same way. The electricity one will be even faster, I'll have that one checking for how the air changes before the strike, it shouldn't be able to touch me at all."

"Maybe add something watching bodily integrity. A surprise attack with a lightsaber can do a lot of damage before the pain can register. Watch for cuts below a certain depth or something."

Nod. "I don't want anything that's going to go off when I'm not actually being attacked, but I should be able to find a good compromise there." Hug. "I don't expect any of this to come up, though; I really do think I can go safely, or I wouldn't be doing it at all."

Hug.

"I hope so. I don't want for you to get hurt."

Hug. "Me either. But I think I'll be okay. It's not my first time pulling a stunt like this," she grins.

Pat pat.

Chuckle, hug, nom.

"When are you leaving?"
