"I'm just trying to be nice!"

"You don't know what it's like to be the chief's son! Everybody expects so much from me when I grow up but I don't think I'll be able to do any of it."

"That does sound tough. But I think you're being hard on your dad."

.....

"I don't think you'll do any more good here, miss." Sharp Beak says soothingly. "Come with me, please."

"Okay."

Gren is waiting nearby. "Hey. I heard some of that... Din's Pearl is what we need to get from here, actually. But we should probably wait a while before asking him for it."

"Has the bird-girl got back yet?"

"No, but it's kind of a big mountain. Do you think something bad could happen to her?"

"It's a rumbly volcano with an angry dragon man."

"Good point. If she doesn't come back in a couple of hours we should go see if she needs rescuing, then."

Zeke already seems pretty nervous.

"...Any of you have a use for bait? Or hyoi pears? That guy down at the beach was selling them cheap."

"What are hyoi pears?"

"They let you mind control a seagull for a little while. It's fun."

"Ooh, let's get those. Then we'll be able to get all the seagulls we can eat!"

"Probably cheaper to just catch gulls. The pears are still a little pricey, eight rupees each."

"Ooh. Well, they still sound fun."

"They are fun! I'll go get a few then."

"Yay!"

He's back quickly. "Okay, you go outside and feed it to a gull. Then you close your eyes and focus on being the gull. Who first?"

Zeke volunteers. 

And he receives a pear with a faint image of a cartoonish face on it.

"Weird." He manages to attract a seagull and feeds it the pear.

It's not hard. There's a crowd of gulls watching for more pears too. 

And he's flying!

He does a few dives...it's almost better than being a cat.
