"Can you shoot us out of the catapult again?"

"Sorry, naw, we need it to fight off the cannons. There's even more of them now."

"Is it time for super jumps?"

"Not unless you can super jump carrying me."

"That might be hard. We could do it, but the landing might hurt you."

"We can just sail up, there's a little opening. As long as the cannons are distracted."

"Maybe I should go over and do some distracting?"

"Yeah. Final battle time! Everyone down some of Nemo's health potion, and make sure you have all the gear you want."

"For saving the world! And more importantly, for huge piles of gold! Pirates, get reaaaady!" They cheer. Red lions shakes his head, amused, then turns serious.

Both ships make for the fortress. The searchlights and cannons predictably start attacking, but the pirates are using their catapult against the cannons already, and attracting most of the counterfire.

Tabitha leaps onto the fortress and looks for trouble to cause.

Monsters of all varieties, including the surprisingly dangerous dog-beasts and pig-beasts! Gosh there's a lot of them.

For expedience, she tries to knock as many into the water as she can.

The pigs can swim. The goblins can't, but they're cannon fodder anyway. The dogs' heavy armor sinks them, those that she manages to knock down.

The giant bird somehow manages to stay asleep, despite the high holy commotion Tabby is raising.

Red Lions arrives at the fortress's dock, and Gren starts running, followed up by Zeke and Nemo. Tabby has most of the monsters' attention, but not all of them.

As usual, Zeke is a disconcertingly fierce killer when he has to be.

In the main courtyard of the fortress, they trio (Tabby still busy rampaging on the upper ramparts) are confronted with a barrier of black, magical-looking smoke blocking exit.

A transparent ghost shaped like Ganon appears! Gren attempts to stab it, but it flies up into the air, laughing creepily, before she lands a hit.

"If Gannon's a ghost, does that mean we can't hurt him?"

"That's not Ganon!"

Nemo digs out another speaking stone - rather like the one Tetra has, relaying Red Lions' voice. "It is a phantasm, a monster summoned to do his bidding. The Master Sword will surely smite it, if you can find some way to get close."

The ganon-ghost has gathered a ball of crackling lightning in its hands, and tosses it at Gren, who quickly runs out of the way.

Zeke gets an idea. "I can toss you at him!"

"Oof, this is gonna hurt, but I have Heart Containers. Let's do it!"

Zeke deftly picks her up and throws her towards the phantasm.

Ghost-Ganon is dealt a vicious blow!

He disperses and reappears on the other side of the plaza. A shimmering electric shield reappears around him, and tosses another electric ball.

Gren bats it away with the Master Sword, but Ganon hits it right back, and she dodges.

Ganon tries the electric-ball thing again, and after a short tennis match, it is struck by its own attack!

The ghost seems undamaged, but it gives up on electricity and starts using rapid-fire blows from a giant sword to menace the trio.

Zeke attempts to draw most of its attacks. He's still fast enough to dodge.

Nemo lands some kind of packet of glittering powder on it with his slingshot.

Hitting it with the master sword a lot seems to work. Eventually. The barrier of smoke disappears and the 'ghost' flies off to the highest point of the fortress.

He hisses at it as it flees.

"It's warning Ganon! We have to hurry."

The way to the higher reaches of the fortress is criss-crossed with barricades. The weaker monsters really don't trouble them much by now, thankfully.

Zeke really wishes his friends could keep up. Part of him feels guilty for thinking that.
