For whatever reason, Tabby now has the giggles.

"And we're not storming the castle. Just treasure hunting."

"Kay, kay."

The inside of the castle is very grand. There are large statues of horses and a boy in clothes much like Gren's striking heroic poses, banners that would probably be very colorful and pretty if they weren't so gray, and portraits of royal-looking people on the wall...

...Two of the portraits are especially prominent.

And one of them looks vaguely familiar...

"Isn't that the pirate lady?"

"...Huh. It looks kinda like her. Maybe that's her sister. Or grandma or something. These portraits are probably really old."

"Oh, yeah, aging."

"Then again, apparently Hyrule is time-frozen. So maybe she's down here somewhere."

"I'll keep an eye out."

They walk through the grand hall, carefully avoiding touching all the monsters frozen in mid-rampage. Goblin-things, pig-things, and a new kind - frighteningly large armored dog-things. They were destroying all the decoration, setting fire to stuff, etc, when the got frozen.

The throne of this castle hall is empty. "Red Lions said there would be a three-triangles sign where we need to go to get the Master Sword..."

"Found it!"

Gren taps the three big triangles set into the floor tiles with the Hero's Sword.

They glow golden, the only color besides themselves down here.

...The giant hero statue moves back to reveal a staircase. "Neat."

"That statue is polite!"

"Let's go see what the basement treasure room is like!"

"Shame Nemo isn't here."

"Treasure this and profit that. Serves him right to miss out once in a while."

"...Wow, it's pretty."

The stairs lead down to a grandly decorated room with stained glass windows that would probably be much prettier if they weren't gray. There is a pool of water with a small walkway to a sort of gazebo where eight giant knight statues cross their swords above it to form the roof. The floor has elaborate murals. 

This room smells... Different. Like something was alive in here, not like the time-frozen nonscent of the rest of the place.

In the center of the gazebo... There sits a sword stuck into the floor, illuminated by a solitary beam of sunlight from a mirror far above.

"You gonna pick it up?"

"Do you smell any traps? Seems like there's always traps and monsters near important things."

The twins sniff.

...It smells like Red Lions in here?

"Smells like Red Lions."

"...How? Why?"

"He did say he was pretty old. Maybe this was his bedroom."

"Hmmmm..."

She walks up and grabs the sword and gasps.

She closes her eyes. After a few seconds, she pulls up on it - it comes free easily. It's really a rather beautiful sword...
