"Look on the bright side, you don't sunburn as fast." At least he's trying.

"I'm gonna have to find a mirror and menace you with it at this rate then."

"Our mummy used to tease us with a mirror when we were smaller kittens."

"That's because it's kind of funny. I'll stop if you want though."

"It's fine." 

The twins manage to wear themselves out.

Gren and Nemo are plotting with a Rito girl about their age. "...And that's where the last switch is, the idea of putting puzzles in there is so annoying, I mean really why would you do that. But that's how we can all get to the top, assuming the monsters don't hinder us too much. And it hasn't changed too much."

"There are puzzles?"

"Yeah, it's really stupid, I already know all of them 'cause I went up a few months ago, see?" She shows off her wings.

"Ooh, can you fly yet?"

"I can fly! It's great fun! I can't fly very far, or carry things easily yet, though."

"Must've been hard getting around here before you could, though."

"Not as much as you think. Little kids don't have much reason to go to random people's houses high up, they can stay in the nursery. You just can't take shortcuts."

"I like your beak."

She blushes and smiles shyly. "T-thanks! We all have beaks, even if they don't work like real birds' beaks. I don't know what it'd be like to not have one."

"And your eyes are a nice shade of red."

"All Rito have red eyes, though. It's Valoo's fire."

"Still nice."

"So, are we going to have a trek up the inside of a volcano, looking for treasure and fighting monsters? Sounds fun."

"And I need to visit the shrine at the peak, to see if there's anything there that can tell us what's wrong with Valoo, yeah... But it might be tricky for you guys to get up there. A rock fell right through the bridge into the entrance, and blocked the spring there too."

"Is there something we can lay over the gap?"

"Let me just show you."

The gap is about fifty or a hundred feet wide.

"We could so have jumped that back home!" He seems frustrated.

There's a pit maybe thirty feet below it. "The real problem is the ashy wind... It keeps changing so fast I can't fly across from one side to the other. If one of you threw me from a bit closer, and timed it well, maybe I could get up, but then you're still stuck. Because that boulder blocks the spring, you see."

"Too bad the exploding fruit over there are withered and dead."

"I know a guy on Windfall who sells bombs, but for way more than they're worth. And it doesn't help us here, so."
