"No, but I didn't visit many clans, and Clow died very soon after he created us, only ten or twenty years."

"Okay, this is terrible, but doesn't really answer how we can stop them from find us. I only have one ring."

"Oh, right." Patience removes a ring from her little finger... it was hard to notice until she did that, then she puts it on again, and it is there, but hard to stare at. "It prevents me from being found magically as long I don't use any magic."

"Oh, that explains it."

"Well, is this cardcaptor business conducive to skipping town?"

"No, most of the Cards will appear nearby..."

"Do you know if the cards are good if the clan does come? I moved even though Stephen said it wasn't necessary."

"Good?"

"Can they be used for defense against other sorcerers?"

"Oh. Yes, they are very powerful."

"Good. Well, not good." Sigh. "Well, thank you for your help, Kero."

"It's alright. I'm sorry this happened to you."

"Not your fault, but thank you. I guess there is no point moving until the cards are dealt with, but we can be prepared to at least leave this house if it comes to that."

"Oooh, one of the cards I managed to keep duplicates things. We could make copies to sell, or even copy all of our furniture and put somewhere else."

"The copies the Twin makes are always a little bit different."

"Well, as long the object function or we can borrow Sadde's Change to..." and then there is a discussion on how to optimize card use for fun, profit and strategy.

The discussion runs late enough that it is too late to send a message about it, but the next day he sends:

Hey, Sadde. It turns out that not only I'm the chosen one meant to save the world, but my dad had to leave me to protect us from his awful family. I'm starting to suspect I'm the protagonist of this story. Are you satisfied with the role of sidekick?

Of course not, you're the romantic interest who gets kidnapped and must be rescued in Act 3. Also I'm curious about what the heck you mean.

I'm sorry, but who has the pink staff of power? This guy. And... Temple summarizes the thing about his dad being from a magic clan and his mom keeping it a secret. As you see my tragic backstory is way more tragic, because I could've known about magic this whole time and didn't!

Well fine then I'll be the sidekick everyone in the audience roots for and who gets more and more screen time until they get their spin-off show.

That works! I was thinking that after the cards are captured there would be an epilogue and you would be super successful or something. While I'm on some other vaguely described magical journey or something. What will your spin-off show be about?

Me taking over the world and becoming a benevolent dictator, hadn't we discussed this already?

Oh, right. I advise you to add a lot of interesting relationships and character trauma, maaaaybe some interdimensional travel.

My job is preventing trauma! The relationships and other dimensions are cool, though.

Sure, skip the trauma, that is the way of getting your spin-off cancelled!
