"I don't need a pillow but it's nice, I can eat everything but I like sweet things."

"How about privacy? Shade? Do you know how to read? Ooooh, I should teach you how to use the computer so you can navigate the internet!"

"Don't mind those things, I can read, what's the internet?"

"What is the most recent human technology you were acquainted with?"

"...I dunno, I didn't keep track."

"Are you familiar with television? Telephones?"

"I've heard of telephones."

"Okay, humans created machines called computers that can do a lot of things related to pre-programmed information. One of the things is that the machines can form a network so they can share information, that is the gist of the internet. And it allows people to seek information they would need to go the library for, send messages without bothering the mailman, look at pictures of cute baby animals and other things."

"Oh. That sounds really nice."

"It is! Anyway, I will talk to Through and then try talk to Shield."

"And I will continue grilling the bear."

"I'm a guardian beast..."

"Be nice to the guardian beast."

Temple then goes back to the living room and summons Through.

It is summoned. It grins at him.

"Hey, I'm Temple and I need to save the world and would like your help if that is okay. Kero said you like pranks, and I will try to think of some that are funny and safe to try, but even if I don't I will try my best to treat you and the other cards nicely. Is that alright?"

It shrugs and nods.

Okay, Shield's turn. Does it show up as the shield in the card? "Hello? Can you understand me? Move up and down for 'yes' and left and right for 'no'."

It shows up but does not move.

"Well, in case you can understand but not communicate..." Temple explains what is going on about the end of the world and etc.

He summons Change. Does it behave animal-like?

Very.

Same spiel as Shield then.

Now he gets back to Kero, "Hey, so how is the meditation supposed to work? Do I have to sit in a lotus position or something?"

"No, you just have to get really calm and focus on your magic. If you're surrounded by the cards and have the staff on your lap it helps."

"Okay," Temple arranges the cards around him and holds the staff on his lap. Confirms if this is the correct set up and calms himself.

Does it help to "focus on your magic", if Temple focus vaguely where that "tug" comes from?

Well he'll need some time to figure that out, probably.
