If this was an anime this would be the scene where Temple's desperate cries would be heard from the outside, possible disturbing some birds to fly off.

"Well now you got a brand new reason to tell her!"

"Is not like it makes telling any easier."

"I don't get why it should be hard."

"You really can't appreciate the difference between telling someone 'yay, magic exists' and 'magic exists and I doomed the world'?"

"Mm, I guess, but that doesn't seem like it'd make it harder."

"Maybe not the actual process of just saying the words, but you have to take into account the emotional impact they have. With just the magic I could tell the news and then we could cast a flight spell and then we could fly around for a bit having fun, I don't think mom will be in the mood for flying after being told I've become The Chosen One that needs to save the world."

"I guess."

"Okay. Well, nothing I can do about that for now. But anyway, the reason I remembered this was, Kero, you are going to live with us, right? What kind of things do you need?"

"You eat?" Temple says eyeing Kero's plushie body up and down.

"You don't look very... biological. Are you made of meat and bones like animals are?"

"My true form is."

"Are you... okay like this?"

"It's annoying and less powerful but when you capture enough Cards I'll get my true form back."

"I'm a powerful winged lion!"

"How many cards? And that does sounds like a cool form, but why a winged lion?"

He shrugs. "Why are you a human?"

"Very complicated biological processes. I was under the impression you were created by magic."

"I was."

"Do you remember that happening? Were you created as an adult at full power or did you start young and less powerful?"

"I was created like I am, but in my true form."
