Rashel looks a bit confused when she gets this text. For good reason, really.

What do you mean?

"You okay?" Kay asks when he notices the confusion.

She looks up at Kay and says, "Uh, yeah, just talking to Thar's dad."

She seems a bit distracted.

Do you want me to… tell him anything? I don't know what, specifically. It was just an offer.

She texts him back: He seemed okay earlier?

… Oh, did you go visit him?

No? He was at school.

She… has a bit of a bad feeling about this.

He's here, at the clinic. Not at school.

Did he tell you that? Or did the clinic? Because I'm pretty sure he was at school.

Is it possible you're mistaken? He's been at the clinic all day.

Rashel looks up at Kay, feeling very stupid. "Okay, sanity check here, but… Thar was in the library earlier, right?"

"Yes, why?"

"Because his dad doesn't think he was," she responds, then texts back: Not unless me and Kay are both mistaken. I can ask others, too, but I'm pretty sure he was there.

"Thar lied to his dad," Kay reasons, "it's not like he isn't being rebelious lately."

"No," she responds. "It wasn't Thar who lied to his dad, because someone else was apparently watching Thar all day."

Well he was apparently here, too, so unless you can think of some way for him to be in two places at once…?

No. She's pretty sure she can't. She's also pretty sure he was at school, though, so she texts back: Is it possible he left the clinic and returned without them noticing?

"Maybe he made someone lie for him?"

"Several people," she says, somewhat absently. "And it's possible, but I don't think he did."

I'm pretty sure that's unlikely. He also says he's been here all day.

She frowns a little. How's he doing? I mean, can you give me more detail than 'okay'?

"Okay... I understand the whole privacy thing, but you know when you drop something like that people get curious. Tell me is what going on."

"I–" she starts, then frowns. "I'm not sure I should really tell you," she says.

He seems to be doing well. He's been mostly doing very little or else acting very normal.
