Kay... might stand there staring wordlessly.

Ev: not staring wordlessly. Ev is staring somewhat blankly still, but instead of wordlessly, he's definitely speaking! On the phone. To the aforementioned emergency services. Conveying that someone just jumped out of a window at school, presumably to their death.

Someone else goes to fetch a teacher. Or something. Some adult to deal with the situation.

There's still the noise of the cafeteria in the background – apparently they didn't hear the smashing of the window, at least not well enough to disrupt anything.

Kay can stay staring for a long time.

And eventually the someone who went to look for a teacher will have successfully found one! They're trailing back behind one, who goes up to the window, looking slightly bored and then rather shocked when they see the damage, and then when they look down at the ground below, going more into panic and trying to keep their head but very obviously failing to do so.

Ev tells the teacher that he's notified emergency services, finishes talking to the said emergency services, and then hangs up. The teacher directs one of the other students to go alert the principal, and then she looks out the window again and– looks rather confused?

The body seems to have disappeared.

Wait, what? When? Kay was staring at it...

Apparently not well enough! Weird, that. Maybe something obscured his vision, or he got distracted for a moment there.

Oh, well... maybe Kay just zoned out.

He just realized he was looking at a dead body for a long time... Kay will take several steps back from the window.

Might be a good idea! Someone just smashed right through it, so there's not much in the way of safety if he were to accidentally, let's say, trip and fall through – wouldn't that be a shame.

The principal: seems to have been gotten, and is moving down the corridor towards them, seeming somewhat hurried. She converses with the other teacher shortly, looks out the window, and then recommends that the students back away from the window while they investigate the matter. She radios someone else to go outside the building and attempt to find something out from there.

Ev moves away from the window when directed to do so, as do most of the other students – though one of them seems a little too shocked to do much more than blink confusedly.

Ev looks over at Kay and seems to be thinking what to say, but it would seem he's not coming up with anything obvious.

Kay is not in a talkative mood. He looks obviously shocked... and confused? Yeah that is definitely a confused Kay.

Because he is thinking "what the hell happened just now?"

Well, it's rather obvious, isn't it? Some guy was talking to himself, happened to be rather disturbed by something, and then tragically committed probably-suicide out of a school window.

Tragic, but it's not like there's anything they can do to fix this. The guy was obviously just unfortunate enough to not have access to the help he needed.

"… Should we maybe get some food?" asks Ev of Kay after a minute.

"No, I mean, yes. But-" Kay starts saying.

...but he is interrupted by Krian hugging him.

"What happened? I heard that a Thamir jumped, and you weren't around..."

"Yeah," says Ev. "It was the guy from the fight thing yesterday."

Krian is still clinging to Kay. "Did he really...?"

"Yep," says Ev. "… Right out the window."

"Well, fuck."

"Yeah... he just... and then he wasn't there anymore."

"But it's being handled, and I'm sure they won't want people standing around gossiping about it, so, uh, I'm gonna go to the cafeteria. And talk… to some people."

And off he goes. To the cafeteria. To talk to some people.

The cousins follow. What else there is to know about the situation?

In the cafeteria? Not much! Most people haven't even heard about the incident yet, but it does seem to be rapidly spreading around, leading some people to get up and try to find the window where it happened.

Ev does indeed go to the cafeteria and talk to some people. He does not get any food. They are not the typical people he seems to talk to. It seems like the conversation might be rather private.

Ev doesn't seem quite as… well put-together as he usually does? It's nothing dramatic, he's not shaking or quivering or teary eyed, he's just… less obviously together than usual.
