Thar, or not-Thar as the case may be, continues to look at her, seeming quite bored with the whole situation.

After a few moments of this, he snorts, seems to break out of character, and says, "C'mon, I'm begging you, please ask the obvious question."

"… I'm not really sure which one to ask."

He raises an eyebrow. "Really? I thought you were better than that."

Smirking, he continues, "The question I was thinking of was 'who are you'. But if you don't want to ask that, sure, I can just sit here for a few more minutes."

… That doesn't really sound like a great solution to her. "Okay."

"Okay?"

"Okay, yes, I want to know who you are."

"Well, obviously I'm Thar," he says, frowning slightly. "I mean, who else would I be?"

"I don't know," she responds. "But I'm pretty sure you're not."

"Not Thar?" He seems to think for a bit. "Mm, no, I suppose I'm not."

"Do you care to explain what the hell, then?"

"You know," he starts, squinting a little, "I'm not totally sure."

"Care to explain what you do know, then?"

"Hmm," he says. "No – first I think I need a name."

"How does Teilo sound? Or Aribor?"

"How about no? How about you just tell me what you know?"

"… Mm," he hums. "Nah, see, I think getting me a name has a higher priority here."

"Just pick one already then, it's not like it really matters. You can always change it if necessary, and you're not even a separate person anyway, so could you just tell me what the hell already."

"Yeah, okay, whatever, uh," he says. "I think Talor works, let's go with Talor."

She gives him an unimpressed look.

"You should probably get back to school. You might miss some afternoon classes at this rate."

"Seriously, just–" She makes a noise of frustration. "What is wrong with you, you already went to the clinic, they seem to think you're still there, your dad thought you were okay, so what the hell."

He gives her an unimpressed look. "I mean, sure, it's not like it's a very plausible idea for you, but– have you ever considered that you were right with the two people thing?"

"… Yes? Which is why I asked it? Then you didn't provide a satisfying response."

"No, see, I don't just mean considered that you were right, but I mean actually, properly considered that you were right."

The emphasis seems to be important to him here.
