After a while of this, Thar makes a face and gets up, leaving to go elsewhere.

Rashel notices this and gets up to intercept him.

"Hey," she says. "Are you… alright?"

"Well, I'm not being kept for observation or anything, am I?"

"Yeah, I suppose, but… Really, I've been worried about you?"

"Yep," he says shortly. "I get that."

"Oh," she responds. "Okay."

Then she looks down a bit and decides that she should return to her seat.

"Hey, look," he says, halting her. "I'm sorry, okay? I was worried too."

She turns to look at him again. "Are you really okay?"

"Yeah," he says. "Like I said – they didn't keep me around or anything."

Yeah. He did already say that.

… So why doesn't she believe him?

Looking down again, she says, "I guess I'll see you around, then. I… I hope you trust me enough in the future?" Then off she goes before he can respond.

Well, he tries to stop her again, still trying to seem convincingly okay, but it seems that's not an option.

So he disappears out of the library.

Ev looks at the interaction, slightly worried, but then continues looking over his notes and chatting to his friends.

Krian keeps chatting with his friends and doesn't pay attention to Thar.

Kay comes over to Rashel.

"Did Thar say anything?" Kay asks.

"Uh, yeah. Apparently he's sorry for how he acted last week, and that he just… wasn't feeling too well."

Kay looks at her with a mix of confusion and pity. "He is a jerk, you don't act like that to your friends."

"Yeah," she agrees, shrugging, "but I've been friends with him long enough that I don't plan on just… dropping him after this one incident."

"Okay, if you need someone to be intimidating or handsomely distracting just call me."

She smiles at him. "Thanks."

Kay smiles back and gets back to studying.

The study period eventually ends. They have lunch.

Thar is not present.

Then there's Art and Thuria, and then last lesson of the day there is Gym.

Thar continues not to be present.

Kay is present! That is like worth at least two Thars.

Yeah. When Thar's being annoying, Kay (at least so far) seems to be worth at least two Thars.

After getting changed at the end of gym, Rashel gets a text from Thar's dad.

Thanks for helping out with Thar. He seems to be doing okay.

No problem, she texts back. I just thought it was better to check. It didn't sound too great.
