"Yeah," she grins.

"Any ideas what?"

"Not really; I don't have a very good idea of what needs to be done. I wouldn't mind going out and helping with stuff away from here; between the spaceship trick and me being able to find planets if they're distinctive enough I can do that and keep teaching and things if we can make the schedules work, but I don't know what that'd be like or what I might do here instead."

"Well, what sorts of things do you do for your tribe?"

"When I'm not doing magic? Gathering, mostly; painting, making traps but that's magic again, I go with kids sometimes when they want to go out... I do a lot of things, really, I don't hunt and I haven't taken the time to get very good at any crafts besides drawing and painting, but most kobolds pick up most skills the tribe needs sooner or later if it's everyday stuff."

"You'd be welcome to spend time with the younglings, if you wish. We have art sessions you can attend, as a student or teacher. Portals between high-traffic planets is a good idea, but that might have to wait until the war has wound down. I don't recommend this, but you could visit some of the battlefields and lend your aid there if you wish."

Grin, hug. "Those all sound good; I can help without getting close to the fighting, if I go out - I've seen people wounded, before, my parent was a healer and I helped them sometimes, I'll be okay with that."

"I suspect our healing technology is somewhat different from yours. Have you encountered it yet?"

Headshake. "If you have technology for it at all, that's different from us."

Satele pulls a first aid kit from underneath the bed and opens it up. She pulls out a small hypospray full of green fluid.

"This is kolto. It is the basis for most of injury care. It cleans wounds, numbs pain, helps with clotting, and promotes healing. It can be either injected or applied topically with a bandage. For severe injuries, prolonged submersion in a kolto bath is advised."

The kobold examines the hypospray without touching it. "That's really neat. It sounds like teleporting people to kolto baths would be useful sometimes?"

"Yes. Injuries that bad often require a swift response, and every second improves their chances."

Nod. "I'm not sure I'll be up for being that close to fighting. But I can give people spells before they go out - for a temporary spell, 'if they fall unconscious or if they want to trigger the spell' should be okay as a trigger, and I can add something about being injured when I know more about that."

"All right. We can work on that."

Nod, hug. "And in the meantime, younglings and art class sounds fun."
