And then the next afternoon she goes to see Occlus.

Occlus is sliding a flimsi around on her desk. It glows in different colors depending on where she puts it.

This is a) not even slightly surprising and b) kind of cute.

The kobold waits to be addressed.

"I believe this spell is stable."

"...huh. Congratulations."

"Thank you."

She's still moving the flimsi around.

The kobold waits for another minute or two, or for her to pause.

"Did you have any questions today?"

"I don't think so. I believe I have learned everything you have to teach, or close enough to get along with. Unless you have more spell forms to share."

Nod. "I was starting to get that impression, too. Do you want a way to get in touch with me, if something comes up?"

"That would be useful."

She nods, and produces a largeish pebble, the size of a small paperweight, in a distinctive yellowish color to enspell. After a moment she hands it over to Occlus. "Nudge it with the Force and it'll teleport to where I'm sleeping; I'll be by as soon as I notice and have the time."

"Very well. So long, then."

The kobold nods, grinning just slightly. "It's been nice working with you." Poof.

"So, I have good news and somewhat less good news, do you want it in any particular order?"

Smile. "Whichever you prefer."

"The good news is that Occlus is done with me; they think they've learned everything they can. The less good news is that they already have their first stable spell - one that they can safely keep and use. I'm expecting my class to have one soon, but they've been at this much longer; we should be assuming that Occlus will be reliably getting stable spells well before any of them."

"Hm. But she doesn't have the teleportation form, so that's not as bad as it might be."

Nod. "They can probably find some way to make trouble with the light form if they really want to, but yes, very much so."
