:I'm glad to have the chance. Hopefully it won't be too much of a disruption.:

:Well, if your work with Sandra pays off, it'll more than make up for it. She can't stop talking about it, you know, she's incredibly excited:

:Yeah, I'm looking forward to that, too. Oh, and... I'll want to spend more than two minutes thinking about this, but if there's anyone else who could use healing - the hour is mostly prep, I can do several people if I do it the simple way. Mostly means you'll lose any scars, and I'm not sure you'll keep the white hair.:

:Hmm. The white hair is from using magic, actually, not age. Not sure how that affects things. And, other people who could use healing - Lancir and Elspeth are both older than me, though they're in excellent health for their age. I, er, picked up a lot more injuries in the field – they healed all right at the time but it seems my body didn't forget. My friend Justen is getting pretty frail, he'd be a good candidate:

This is the moment at which Vanyel emerges from the bedroom, wearing a sleeping-gown. "Deskyl, er, I'm ready for bed now."

:All right. Your place?: she asks Savil. :It's in range.:

:Huh? ...oh, did you want to keep speaking after this? Or did you need to stay near Van all night?:

:For a little while, anyway, and if you have questions about my healing it'd be a good time to answer them.: To Van: :I'll ramp it up slowly; I should notice when you're comfortable, but say something if I seem to have gotten it wrong and I'll fix it.:

Vanyel nods. He starts to head back into his bedroom, then stops, indecisive. "...um, can I have a hug again?" His thoughts are immediately full of embarrassment at having the temerity to ask.

:Anytime.: She hugs him, and doesn't seem to be in any hurry to pull away.

Then Vanyel will enjoy being hugged for about a minute before disentangling himself and trailing off to his bed to lie down.

:Goodnight.: And she beings slowly increasing the power of the calming effect as they head to Savil's place.

Vanyel shifts around in bed a bit first before finding a comfortable position, and then as the tension leaves his body – he never realized how tense he must have been basically all the time, before – the exhaustion catches up. It's not as steep a crash this time, and he doesn't fall asleep instantly, but he's so pleasantly relaxed and cozy and warm, it's...nice. He almost doesn't want to fall asleep yet, because then he won't be able to keep enjoying it, but he drifts off anyway within a few minutes.

And once they're at Savil's and settled: :I can certainly heal Lancir, and I should probably do your Companions, too, in case it does do de-aging. Who are the other two?:

"Elspeth is the Queen. Justen is one of my oldest friends – he taught some of my lessons when I was a trainee, gods, forty-odd years ago. And he's one of our most experienced mages, but his health isn't good enough for him to do as much as he used to."

:I'll want to meet him, but I doubt it'll be a problem. The queen - how does succession work around here, am I going to be getting into the middle of politics?:

"It's by blood except that the heir needs to be a Herald. Darvi is the current heir and I doubt he'll mind, and – honestly, the Council would be delighted. Elspeth's reign has been unusually stable and peaceful, no one likes to think about it being over. Is it going to be very obvious that you've done this healing? Because if not, we don't actually have to spread it around."

:Other than the hair and scars I doubt it'll do anything cosmetic. The Force has an idea of how people should be, and healing brings you in line with that, but looking old isn't out of line with it - I'm not sure about your hair because I can tell it's not just from age. I can do partial healing, to leave scars and things alone, but it's much more complicated.:

"Interesting. Well, I don't care much about the hair either way. And I can introduce you to Justen at some point, whenever's convenient. He doesn't get out much these days."

:Sure. I'm going to want to look a little further into the political situation, but I can do the healing any time, more or less, it doesn't need to wait on anything else.:

"All right. I appreciate it." Savil ducks her head. "Was there anything else you wanted to talk about tonight?"

:I'm going to need to talk to someone about what I'll want in permanent quarters at some point. I might need something built; I'm not picky, but I'm going to need a couple things that might be hard to come by, particularly distance from other people.:

"Right. Is that because of the shields thing, or something else? And, probably the person you want is Jaysen, I can put you in touch with him when you're ready for that."

:Sounds good. I need the distance because of the calming effect, actually - I was up to combat-grade calming with him earlier and I won't actually be surprised if he needs it at that strength on at least an occasional basis. And while I'm awake I can target just him, but if I'm asleep I can only do it as an area effect, and you don't want people wandering into that unaware.:

"Oh, goodness, yes, that could be unfortunate. Er, does that mean you'd need him to be nearby too? Also, I hate to ask, but - what exactly do you use it for in combat?"
