Kaylee spends Friday night and Saturday morning thinking and thinking and thinking in circles.
Kyubey doesn't seem so bad...

She doesn't get very far. After Saturday lunch she retreats to her room, heart thumping, fingers drumming nervously.
The rest of the team's doing well, too. Lianne's been working on her speed, to great effect.
It doesn't put up much of a fight.
Kaylee alights on the ground and picks up the grief seed as the barrier shimmers out of existence. "Anyone need...?" She gestures indicatively with it.
"Guess we're heading home, then. Mal, can I get a ride with you again?"
Lianne also gets a ride home with Mal.
"See you on Monday?" she says to Kaylee when they split up.
"Yep, see you then! Bye!" She gives a little wave as she gets out of the car.
The next Saturday, Lianne's partnered with Alex for their training. It's interesting, since Alex is extremely heavy on ranged attacks, and Lianne's heavy on up-close-and-personal with her sword. She ends up getting a lot of practice dodging or blocking trick arrows.
During a lull in the fight, Alex (who's been chattering on and off) says, "So, you and Kaylee, are you two, y'know?"
That brings her up short, and she nearly fails to block Alex's follow up attack. "...That honestly never occurred to me. I don't think we are..."
"I am almost one hundred percent positive she likes you like that. You're a bit harder to get a read on, since you're so friendly with everyone, but my read was you do, too. Have you guys seriously never talked about this?"
"I'm selectively oblivious, okay! Wow, I'm going to really have to think over that..."
"Nah, I think I'm good. Thanks for the offer - and the clue-by-four over the head."
