"Yes, generally."

She grins.

She gives a few more pointers about specific tactics she's seen and how to combat them.

"That reminds me - I've been thinking of ways to get magical girls' attention without hunting in their territory, since that seems to make them angry.  You can make all kinds of different guns - do you think you could make a flare gun that only magical girls can see?  Since a lot of magical things are invisible to non-magical-girls."

"Good idea. It's theoretically possible. You might still get some hostilities that way, but they'll be reduced, and you'll be able to pick the grounds."

"Thanks.  I'm not sure how well it'd translate to other weapons, though..."

"You could maybe do something with ribbons? You'd have to rely on the other girls being in a position to see it though..."

"Something big and flashy on top of a skyscraper, maybe?  And then wait around a while.  I don't actually know if the ribbons are invisible to non-magic people, though.  - We need a better word for that."

"For non-magical people?"

"Yeah."

"Dunno." She looks at the other girls, who mostly shrug.

Alex looks thoughtful. "Hm... Mundanes. Muggles. Nulls?"

"Mundanes could work.  Magic versus mundane, that's a thing.  Or we could just shorten non-magical-girls to - nonmages or something?  ...Or unwished, it sounds a bit fantasy-novel but it makes sense..."

"Why don't we have a vote? Between mundanes and unwished."

"Sounds good to me!"

Lianne puts her vote in for unwished, Taylor for mundanes ("That way we can also distinguish potentials," she argues), Alex for unwished, Sophie for mundanes, and Mallory abstains.

Kaylee votes for her own idea, a little sheepishly.  "Although Taylor makes a good point.  We could call them unwishers instead, or use them interchangeably."

"Unwishers sounds kinda awkward in a way unwished doesn't? Maybe just restrict how we use unwished, it won't be the first time a word's had a meaning that doesn't match the etymology."

"Yeah, you're right... nonwishers sounds a bit better to me, maybe?  If we wanna be really specific."

"Eh, I don't think it matters that much. Unwished is more. Smooth or something," Alex says. "I don't think specificity matters all that much, context should make who you're talking about clear."

"Yeah, that's true.  Unwished it is!"

"So, what're we thinking next?"

"I need to head out soon-ish, so if y'all are done, I can go on home."

"I think we've had a pretty good training session for today, what about you guys?"

There's general agreement with this.
