Pangi seems... the least distracted, and therefore the most sensible person to ask what is happening.

He walks up towards him, trying to look obviously unthreatening.

Pangi waves! He's placing sandstone. (From close by, Drizzt can see another person--Woogie--who's also here by the church with Pangi, away from the main drama.)

"I'm assuming this is-- meant to be happening?"

“Uhhhh sort of. Yeah. Let’s go with that. I don’t think they planned out, like, the details. They’re just being silly.”

"An exuberant fire."

"Yeah. Yeah. As long as they don't touch the church, it's whatever."

"Do you want help with that?"

"Oh! Yeah, that'd be nice. There's materials in the chests. If anyone starts jumping you just let me know and I'll help you out, alright?"

He nods, and starts checking around the perimeter of the church.

If he's checking for people, they are still very much clustered around the new, non-church building, and seem pretty content to ignore Pangi, Woogie, and Drizzt, at least for now. If he's checking for chests, there's a row of furnaces and a couple chests with smooth sandstone and related materials.

He's going to stealthily edge towards the new building. Why are people so interested.

Hard to say? Leowook is leading Branzy from the new building into a nearby yellow-and-red van. Chat elaborates that Leowook is doing a robbery and stealing their old people. If Drizzt keeps watching, Zam eventually goes after Leowook, hitting him a couple times with a sword and then repeatedly with a piece of white carpet and then a golden carrot, while Rekrap sneaks Branzy back out of the van and back into the house.

(Rekrap says that Zam can head back; he pearls away from Leo back to Branzy's retirement home, where he barricades Branzy's room with obsidian so Leo can't get him. Leo, predictably, follows. Zam and Rekrap start trying to convince Leo that Branzy has left.)

Yep, church is still fine! Pangi doesn't seem bothered; he jumps down from where he's placing sandstone to get more from the furnaces before heading up again.

He goes to help Pangi make the church. (He feels weird about making a church, but it isn't exactly covered with spiders, and Pangi is a man, so. Probably not a very church-like church.)

Pangi builds for a while, declares he wants to see what's going on, and goes over, only to be punched by white carpet. He and Zam get in a bit of a slapfight--decidedly not a dangerous one--and he checks out the house before leaving to go back to building the church. His verdict is that he still doesn't know what's going on but it looks like they're just being silly.
