"I think they will. Pancakes are ready."

"I hope you don't mind if I have one, I already had cereal but those smell tasty."

"Ditto." says Dave

"I'll have two for now." says Rose.

"I made extra." Emily serves pancakes to everyone who wants one and nibbles on one herself as she makes more.

Linda comes in while pancakes are being served.

"Ooooh pancakes!"

Linda is served pancakes.

She looks around the room thoughtfully,

"What's up?"

Alex sighs, "There's a neutron star on a collision course with the sun. We're not sure exactly what's going to happen but it's probably not good. Maybe it's just pessimism on my part, but my guess is that those of us here will be the last of humanity as of 6 or so tomorrow morning."

"Oh."

She goes over to hug Anna, who returns the hug.

"It's hitting us all a little hard. Some harder than others."

"I think that's a given."

"I think we'll be ok though. It's terrible what might be about to happen. But because we're here we get to remember and begin again."

"No pressure," mutters Claire.

"Not like we have much choice in the matter."

"No, but we can make the best of it."

"Or try anyway."

Dave gets up from the table, "Uh, why don't I go see if John and Jade are awake yet and let them know what's up?"

He goes to do that (assuming nobody objects).

Nobody does. "I think I'm going to go back to the Library."

"I'll probably join you shortly."

"The pancakes aren't quite done yet, I don't have any plans after cleaning up though."

"I think I'm going to stay with Emily."

"I'll go to the library too, maybe one of the stores sells software."

"I'm sure there is software somewhere in that mall, what kind of software were you after?"

"Physics simulators, symbolic math, something that will let me work with physics using something more than paper."

"Oh, that's cool I guess."
