"Good luck you guys, stay safe."

Dave and Jade file into the elevator.

Linda brings up the rear.

"Let's go." Emily presses the button and the doors slide closed then slide back open to reveal a lounge which is familiar save for slightly different furniture and white accents replacing black.

There's an indian man and a caucasian woman sitting in the kitchen eating. They don't notice when the elevator doors open.

Dave steps out first.

"Hello?"

They startle. "Hello," says the woman. "Are you arriving really late to the party or is something else going on?"

"There's other complexes. We got the elevator to take us between complexes. We are making contact with other groups. Are you the only people here?"

"I'm Betty, this is Ajay. There were a bunch of other people, but they decided that they wanted to find a way home, they left last night and we haven't seen them since."

"Some doors here are one way. Maybe they went through one of those."

"How do you know that?" asks Ajay.

"The computers in the library downstairs have a lot of information."

"Do they tell you how to get home?"

"No, the tv can get news from Earth though and we might not want to go back. There's a neutron star on a collision course with the sun, maybe that'll be fine but we don't know one way or the other."

Ajay gasps.

Betty chews on her lip. "It doesn't say on the news?"

"They are saying it's going to be okay on the news, but it seems suspicious that something like this would happen after some people got transported to another planet." says Dave.

"Yeah, it's kinda super suspicious." says Jade.

"Yeah. Oh, I'm Linda, these are Dave, Jade, Emily, and Alex. We have some more people in our complex but they decided not to come this time."

"Oh." Betty chews her lip some more. "I guess that makes sense. It was overcast yesterday but the sun does look different. I was hoping that it was some weird optical illusion or something. We're really on another planet?"

Ajay shakes his head slowly. "This is a lot to take in."

"Yeah, it's really another planet. All the evidence lines up that way."

"Yeah, you should really check out the library downstairs, there are also jobs available that get you special permissions. That's how we were able to get here."

"Your elevator will just work now if you have the code for where you want to go though, now that we've visited. Elevators are contagious like that."

"That doesn't help with finding where everyone went, and I don't think we know the codes for anywhere we'd want to go," says Ajay. "Do any of the jobs help with that?"

"Unfortunately I don't think there's any way to track people, or at least not naively."

Dave says, "Actually, the security position lets you know where people are."
