She wants to talk to Van, actually, but it's in the same direction. :I'll have a look, sure. Did you have any particular timeline in mind for the move?:

"We'll need at least a week of lead time โ€“ it has to be cleared out, re-furnished, all that. What were you thinking?"

:That should be fine. I'm considering spending a few days hibernating to finish my recovery faster; I won't want to be moved in the middle of it.:

"Huh! Literally hibernate, like bears do in winter? Or do you just mean you'll be really deeply asleep for a while?"

:It's probably not identical to bears, but it's not just a deep sleep either - you won't be able to wake me, and I won't be able to use any Force techniques like I would during a normal sleep, and there's a few physical differences. Your healers might be interested in coming to look, which is fine as long as they're quiet and don't touch me.:

"Interesting. I'll ask them about it. Is this kind of, er, hibernation, something everyone in your world can do, or only Force users?"

:Normal humans can't. There are lots of other species, though, some of them might have something similar.:

"Huh. Interesting. We have other species too but I don't know that any of them hibernate โ€“ hertasi might, I suppose, they're cold blooded." They've reached the turnoff between the guest wing and the Heralds' area. "Anyway, do you need anything else tonight?"

:Nope; I was going to go check in with your nephew, though.: She heads that way, continuing to make small talk about the aliens of her world.

Savil will part ways with her in the hall, then, peeling off to her own door.

She checks how he's doing before she knocks; it's not likely that he's asleep, but it's not impossible.

He's not. He seems fairly calm, though, sitting at his desk writing some kind of notes.

Good. She does knock, then, quietly.

He pads over and lets her in. "Hey - how was your day?"

:Pretty good.: Hug? :I like the queen, she's pretty cool. How was yours?:

Hug! "I guess it was fine." He doesn't seem especially eager to talk about it.

:Sounds good. Things are coming together pretty well for me, I wanted to talk to you about logistics for some of it.:

"Oh?"

:Your aunt thinks she's found us a permanent house, for one thing. I want you to have a look and make sure it's someplace you'll be comfortable being. She's going to show it to us tomorrow.:

"Oh! That's good. Um, sure, I'll come have a look then."

:Sounds good. What's your schedule, or should I come a little early before dinner to show you?:

"Before dinner seems good. I have things in the morning and then I usually, um, need a few candlemarks of break after that."

:All right, I'll come get you then. And the other thing is, I'm thinking about taking a few days to hibernate, get my recovery over with - if I do it I'll be out entirely until I'm done, and I'm not sure how long it'll be, but probably a couple of days - my guess is no more than three but four wouldn't surprise me too much. Do you think you'll be all right that long without the help getting to sleep?:

Vanyel automatically starts to answer yes, then stops and makes himself actually think. It won't be easy. But if things get bad he can spend a night or two in the stables, have Yfandes help him sleep. "I can manage," he says. "It seems worth it."

She squeezes his hand. :Good. It'll be a few days before I do, I think - after dinner tomorrow at the earliest, I'll do it after you go to bed so it's as few evenings as possible. But I want to see the house and heal your aunt and the queen first.:
