"Of course." And he gets the wings he didn't separate to let starve. "It will be only the three of us?"

Jaim nods, "Adding more people would mean I would have to hold the air pocket for more - it is not a commonly known spell." For all that it really is very useful. "Istaim knows it, but if I am not here they really should be."

"I can probably do something with ice, but it is less likely it will cover air renewal. But my understanding of places like that implies that big groups cause more harm than good."

"Absolutely - the less people wandering around touching things inside the better." He glances at Ilek, "Take care," he adds to him, "We don't know exactly what we are walking into - just that whatever the ruins are, they are in some way powered."

Ilek nods.

How do these wings work anyway? He'll need a quick run down on the things Zephyrinus showed Jaim the day before, and then they can be on their way.

Zephyrinus explains and then they can take flight, with him flying close to catch Ilek in case of accident.

Ilek's a fair bit more shaky than Jaim was at the start - he hasn't flown before - but he manages fine. He's also not enjoying himself quite as much as Jaim is.

(Flying: still great!)

He stops Ilek from taking the wings off when they reach the lake.

"I think we should keep then on," he says, "They aid in faster swimming," he glances at Zephyrinus for his opinion on the matter.

Zephyrinus nods. "I think their extra push compensates the extra drag even if you don't know how to swim with them. Also, they might be useful inside the ruin?"

He translates for Ilek, nodding, "There could be places we would need wings to reach," he agrees.

He strips down to his shirt again - he knows he could take the wings off, but this makes for a great excuse to leave his shirt on, so he's just going to pretend he forgot.

Once Ilek and Zephyrinus are ready to get into the water, he casts the air pocket spell on each of them.

Then, it's down into the depths once more.

The tower rises out of the bottom of the lake, the same place it was the day before. The doorway is still lit from within, easily found.

Zephyrinus changes into his Hibera form before going underwater. He approaches Jaim. "Do you know how to open it?"

He's examining the runescript just outside the door, trying to read it in the light the thing is giving off.

"I think," he says after a moment, "That we should just be able to go through it. I think the runescript projects a field which repells water."

"Huh, useful. Nothing booby trapped or they don't usually bother?"

"They do, sometimes - but I don't think this is. I don't have a perfect grasp of even those runes we know, but I recognise most of the runes which show up in traps.

"The script necessary to run this effect is also very large," he adds. "I think it might continue inside, as well. If there are any traps, they will be farther in."

He nods. "Let's get inside then."

Jaim leads the way, grabbing onto the edge of the doorway and slipping through - and down, to the floor of the dry room inside.

"Definitely still working," he muses. He's dry, as well, he notes, glancing down at himself and patting his hair.

Zephyrinus also notices this and looks at the water barrier. "Do you think it would be dangerous to get some water for me to use?"

"I would be surprised if you can get any more through that barrier than it allowed us already. I could pull some from the air, if you'd like," he offers.

Ilek follows them in, grimacing at the feel of the cool air on his skin.

"Should've just worn our clothes down here," he mutters. Admittedly they didn't know the barrier was there before.

Zephyrinus can understand him.

Blink. "I understood that."

"Hm? Oh, yes, most ruins have a translation effect." He stops powering the runestone, which he'd strung on a chain to keep around his neck.

"Oh. Convenient. And do you want to get up there to retrieve them?" He asks Ilek.

He shrugs, "It's fine, they'd just get soaked again on the way up, I can just-" he spins out a thread of Fire, twisting it around himself and willing it to warm the air around him.

"There." He glances at Jaim, "Do you want one?" He asks.

"I would appreciate it," Jaim agrees.

"Right-" and he casts an actual spell for Jaim, complete with an incantation - "Warmth."

Jaim nods in thanks, and then steps over to examine the walls around the only other way out of the room.

"I think this should open to a shock of mana Lightning," he murmurs. He generates one, a bit of a waste of mana for him, but he can take the hit.

It doesn't work, though.

He looks at the door, finding that it's stuck open about two inches.

"...But that could be a problem," he says.
