...He really wants to just. Go. 

There are reasons he doesn't fly very often, beyond the extravagant waste of mana. 

Zephyrinus notices his faces and flies by to give a quick tap at the wing. It sparks. But the face doesn't go away. "Are you okay? Are the wings hurting you?"

"Ah - no," he says, glancing over at Zephyrinus, before turning his gaze back to the view before them. 

"They don't hurt. I'm just... wishing for things I can't have."

He shakes his head, dragging his eyes away from the horizon. "We should stay nearby," he says, "But..." he flies a quick circle to get a good look around, searching for the nearest lake. There's one right on the edge of the deep woods to the north.

He smiles at Zephyrinus, "That lake isn't too far," he suggests. Maybe he'd like to try swimming in a lake that doesn't cause intense pain.

He makes a half-turn to face Jaim. "Oooh. And it's safe to swim in?"

He laughs, "It is!" He agrees, Zephyrinus' enthusiasm brightening him up again. 

To the lake! Flying to the lake!

Lake wards they go! Zephyrinus is uncharacteristically excited.

And after some flying(!): Lake! Jaim spirals down to touch a hand to the water's surface, sending a trail of water streaming up behind him as he makes for the shore. 

Zephyrinus mimics the gesture, looking amazed by the simple contact of his hand with so much water.

He circles around to land on the shore facing the lake, delighted by the wonder on Zephyrinus' face. It's... really nice, to be able to give him something to make him this happy. 

"Can you teach me how to swim? Actually, do you mind if I change into my Hibera shape? Safer with the water."

"Of course," he says, "To both - go ahead."

He waves a wing, "Should I take these off - I probably should." He looks reluctant. 

Zephyrinus shrugs. "I was going to keep mine. But I don't know, they might be a drag in the water."

He looks out at the lake, "I'll give it a try while you change," he decides. 

He toes out of his shoes, and strips down - leaving the shirt, given the wings are on top of it. Given that it's Ilek's, not his, it covers him down to his upper thighs. The Bow he sets carefully on top of the pile, patting them when they glow at him, amused. 

Then he steps into the water, quickly making his way out until his shoulders and head are all that's uncovered - and then he tries swimming out a bit further. Can he get the wings to cooperate with this?

Yes, though, it might be a bit hard to figure what he is supposed to do with the two extra limbs, but the same force that lets them fly also helps him to keep afloat.

Zephyrinus reemerges and puts his clothes next to Jaim's. He toes the water a bit before getting inside.

Excellent! 

He swims back towards the shore to watch Zephyrinus test the water, eyes darting away again when he notes the nudity, before coming back to settle on his face. 

(He somehow managed not to think this part through.)

A little red at the edges, he nonethless chuckles at the tentativeness. 

"Come on in," he says, "It won't bite." 

"I wasn't expecting to." He says and after a moment dives in, emerging a moment after and spitting some water. "Nice."

He laughs as Zephyrinus dives in. 

"It is very nice," he agrees, "And the wings make this even easier, which is a good surprise." 

He swims closer, "Lessons?" He offers, "Or do you think you can manage? Truth be told I'm not sure I can teach you the way I learned with the wings on." 

Also it will mean a lot of touching. He really did not think this through. 

"I would like lessons. I should learn both with and without wings."

Alright then. 

At least with the wings he can probably just give instructions/demonstrations, right?

"You'll want to practise with the wings on how to float without them," he begins, and then pushes himself up, eased by the wings aid, to float on his back, that being the first thing he learned.  

Various wing-aided swimming instructions ensue. 

Zephyrinus is unabashedly enjoying himself.

So is Jaim! Well, maybe a bit abashed. He gets over it pretty quickly, once they get going, though. 

Once Zephyrinus has the hang of it, they can wing-swim for a while!

It's very fun!

After a while, he moves towards the shore, "Did you want to try without wings, as well?" He asks.

"Of course."

Back to the shore to take the wings off, then, he supposes. 

"How do they come off?" He asks, prodding at one of the places they hook onto his back.
