"Awwww, I was having fun. But yeah, I guess you're right."

"I'm pretty convinced about the superpowers though.  Still think I wanna see the girl who turns into sand."

"She's probably wandered off, but I told her when I was finishing school so she might be back soon?"

"Let's round me off to convinced on all counts, at least for a bit.  So.  What's our next move?"

"Hm. I still wanna talk to a vampire?"

"Are you sure you're ready to, like - go looking for trouble?  Because if Mr. Giles is right about vampires, or at least about some subset of vampires, that seems like it's - risking inviting lots of fights."

"...I mean I think I can handle myself in fights?"

"Might not be a bad idea anyway," Tag says.  "I kinda wanna hear Giles's story."

"Uh, what's that 'it' referring to?"

"I meant talking to Giles first, getting some practice in."

"Spoilsport. But I am meeting with him tomorrow. Guess I can continue power testing today?"

He shrugs.  "Works for me."

"Good! I like power testing. It's fun!"

Power testing proceeds; her "Captain America" estimate is broadly borne out.  Gaara never does show up that afternoon; the gang reconvenes the next day to talk to Giles.

"So, do we have, like, a game plan?" she asks the other two. "For talking?"

"Is it more complicated than just, we all show up and say, hey, we know about vampires, we want to hear what you have to say too?"

"Guess not?"

"Long as he's not gonna turn us over to the masquerade police."

" - Pretty sure he won't? He seemed reasonable?"

"Works for me.  Let's head to the library."

"Right!"

Onwards to the library! Nausicaa knows not to shout in libraries, so she doesn't call out to him when she enters, just looks around.

He emerges from the stacks, after a few moments, and blinks.

"Ah, hello - children.  Are you here for a study group?"

"The thing we were talking about yesterday."

"...Your friends are helping you get caught up?  I hope you remembered to budget time for our - private tutoring session this afternoon."

"I told them! About the thing."
