Nausicaa's hand is fortunately close to Vanessa's throat; she tries to grab the vampire around the neck. 

Gaara flickers into sand, shifting to the side, out of sight of the door.

Vanessa drives her fist hard into Nausicaa's solar plexus; the other vampire starts advancing cautiously toward their brawl, keeping one eye on the door.

Nausicaa's too close, still holding Vanessa's dominant hand, and at too awkward an angle for that to have been an extremely hard blow; still, it hurts. She spins, throwing Vanessa towards the ground.

She rolls, moves to spring to her feet - 

Nausicaa kicks her in the chest.

She gasps and flinches - but seems to recover in a split second, and manages to spring to her feet anyway.

Crap.

Nausicaa tries to grab Vanessa again.

Gaara, meanwhile, engages the other vampire in a very strange game of keep-away as they each dodge or withstand each other's main attacks.

Vanessa's fast, and she's got her eyes open this time - her hands move to knock Nausicaa's aside and then smoothly transition to grabbing her by the throat.

Nausicaa makes a choked sound, and tries to kick or hit Vanessa, but her angle's not good - 

Vanessa drives her against the wall and bares her fangs -

Nausicaa can't dislodge her - 

She bites -

it hurts -

And she's dust.

(Gaara turns her back on her opponent long enough to throw the stake, with a tendril of sand to keep it from hitting Nausicaa - )

 - long enough for the last vampire to slash his knife wildly toward Gaara, across her back -

She falls forward, stumbling -

And Nausicaa throws a stake through his heart.

And then falls to her knees crying -

Gaara's flickering into sand, dissolving even as it absorbs her own blood, staunching the flow.

Nausicaa stumbles to her feet. Over to her friend.

"Let's - let's get out of here."

"Let's get you safe."
