There is, in fact, a brief respite when the song changes.

"Having fun?"

"– I think so, yeah," says Tyler, smiling at Mason.

"I'm thinking about heading home, but I wouldn't want to ruin your fun." 

"We can dance another time."

"You got a number?" asks Tyler, smirking a little and holding up his phone.

He's happy to provide.

"Have a good night," he says, somewhere between bubbly and sultry. It mostly ruins the effect.

Tyler smiles at him anyway, then follows Danny out.

"Had a good time?"

"Not really. I kissed a few guys, nothing worth mentioning. You?"

"He was more interesting than I expected."

"Almost a compliment! He must be pretty special."

He shrugs.

"Well, you can call him or not, up to you. I'm not sure there's anything else to do tonight."

"Fine by me to go back." He tilts his head a bit. "It's been fun."

They part ways, then.

Tyler's at school the next day.

Is Lydia around?

Lydia is always around!

She waves.

He goes towards her!

"Hey!" he says. "How are you?"

"Not bad. I heard you and Danny went out last night." 

"We did!" he agrees. "To a club, met some people."

"Good for them. I had nothing to do. Pretty sad, actually." 

"I'm not sure it'd be your sort of thing, to be honest."

"I'm very persuasive. But you're probably right." 

There's the bell. He should hop to class.

"See you later," he says, and then he does.

Actually, they have their first class together.

She walks with him.

"So you're liking it here, so far?"
