"I'm not sure what kinds of hazards you are imagining. Children do often die of various things, mostly illness, but a typical day in the life of a typical child is not life-threatening."

"...it's possible to learn to avoid fire without wandering bodily and entire into it. I'm admittedly not sure what parents who live near beaches do but I don't think wandering into the ocean is a common childhood death."
