"Suppose it's time to head back. Think your dad will give me a ride to my place?"

"I don't think he'd mind," Kaylee says.  "Want me to come with, when he does?"

Kaylee smiles at the ground as they pull apart.  "I like how much you like hugging me."

"You're very huggable!"

She giggles and blushes.  "I do my best!"

"And cute and lovely and kind and empathetic and just a wonderful person."

"Thank you."  Blush.  "You're pretty spectacular too, you know.  Brave, and determined to help people, and - pretty - " she still can't talk about how pretty Lianne is without turning bright red.  "And cuddly."

"Aw, thanks. I try to be brave and all, it matters a lot to me that you think I am..."

"You are!  You - " she glances around to see if anyone's listening in, then murmurs, "you stormed into the basement witch to save me, before we even had - any magic, or anything.  I'm - just constantly really impressed by how brave you are, Lianne."

"Gosh. Thanks. Just - didn't feel like I had a choice at the time. Never really does, I guess."

Kaylee squeezes her hand and smiles.  "See, that's the sort of thing I mean."
