Who reflexively swipes at her, lightning fast, preparing to keep close of the girl tries to retreat.

She jerks backward, but still winds up with a gash in her stomach.  She flings a few more pins toward Lianne, these ones aimed at her face.

Who ducks, and, pursuing, shoots a ribbon out of the hand not occupied by her sword.

She jumps into the air to avoid the ribbon and flings two more grenades in Lianne's direction.

Lianne bats them away, before summoning a wide array of swords to hem her in while she's still mid-air - this time covering the bottom, too.

The girl opts to levitate.

By this time, Kaylee has alighted on the roof of the opposite building, throwing knives ready if the girl manages to escape somehow.

The girl flicks a grenade pin in Kaylee's direction.  Reflexively she brings her hand up to block, and the pin lodges in her palm.

Already it hurts more than it should.  Kaylee yelps as she yanks it out of her hand, and the pinprick-wound starts to close itself.

The girl tosses another grenade toward Lianne, and it explodes into a blinding flash of light and an explosion of sound that leaves her ears ringing.

Lianne drops concentration on the sword-cage for a crucial second - next time she's not leaving enough of a gap to so much as breathe through - and blinks, her healing kicking in for her ears. She jumps back and to the side instinctively, in case the grenade girl follows up with an attack.

As the swords fall, the girl manages to slip out of their radius, and readies another grenade to throw at Lianne -

But the toss is interrupted by a whirling knife from Kaylee's direction - she's in the air, now, and headed toward the other roof.

Grenades-girl lurches back to avoid being tackled, and Kaylee manages to land on her feet, drawing two more knives and whipping them both in Grenades' direction.

With all her attention on Kaylee, Grenades ducks.

She'll be swatted aside like a fly if she's not careful (Lianne's using the flat of her blade, because she's not murderous levels of angry-afraid quite yet.)

She is so swatted, but she manages to lean into the hit just so as to turn being swatted away into being swatted upward.  She spins around in midair like a gymnast, flings another volley of pins towards Lianne, and lands on her feet.  Then, for Kaylee, another grenade.

Pins and grenade each get blocked by a sword-shield. Lianne retaliates by leaping at her, trying to grab her with her ribbons.

Grenades dodges the ribbons.  Kaylee manages to throw another knife at the place Grenades is dodging towards; it hits.

"Not as easy as you thought it'd be?" Kaylee asks lightly.

She lands, grimacing, favoring the arm with the knife lodged in it.

She tosses off three more flashbangs, which go off in sequence; by the time they can see again, she's distant, fleeing.

Kaylee lets out a breath, visibly relaxing.

She sighs and dismisses the swords still scattered about. "That was. Something. C'mon, let's get out of here before she decides to come back."

"Yeah, lets."

"Don't figure we'll have time for much more searching today. Wanna just head back to the hotel room?" She hates admitting defeat, but...

"Probably a good idea."  She hops from the roof back into the alleyway, and detransforms.

Lianne follows suit, and heads back to the hotel, where she clears her soul gem before offering the grief seed to Kaylee.

"Thanks."  She clears her gem too, and sets the grief seed down on the bedside table.  She heads to the bathroom to change, and then flops down in bed.

Change. Flop. "Ugh."
