Lianne finishes up her meal over light chatter.

Once they're both done, they can go hunting.

'You want to dowse, or should I?'

'You can.  You know the city very slightly better than I do.'

'Only very!'

Lianne discretely baubles her soul gem and starts searching for witches. She's kinda getting a feel for power levels; she'll leave alone any that feel huge. A mid-range witch sounds good for their purposes - likely to draw another girl, unlikely to smear them.

She's led through alleys and back streets, and eventually a mid-range witch is located.  Potted plants and pruning shears, the witch a a swarm of thick yellow gardening gloves; winning isn't trivial, but it's easy enough.

No other magical girls are in evidence at any time during the fight - nor during their second fight, or third, or fourth.

"This is exhausting," Kaylee says as another barrier vanishes.  "You wanna head back to the hotel soon?"

"Yeah, let's go on back." 'At least we'll have plenty of spare grief seeds; we'll have to check with Kyubey how long these last, use up the most dangerous ones first.'

She nods.

It's quicker going back, naturally.  Once they're up in their room, Kaylee detransforms and flumphs into bed without bothering to change.  "Didn't realize how much more exhausting fighting four witches in one day would be than fighting one."

Lianne detransformed as soon as they left the barrier. She ducks into the bathroom to change into nightclothes, then comes out and flops on her own bed.

"Tell me about it. And, ugh, you'd think we'd have run into someone by now."

"Yeah, I don't know what's taking so long."  She rolls onto her side to face Lianne's bed.  "I mean, I have no idea how long this sort of thing usually takes, but."

"Good point. And, who knows, resident magic girl might have decided to take yesterday off. Maybe we'll have more luck tomorrow, it being a weekend and farther from New Years and all."

"Yeah, maybe."  She yawns.  "Think I'm gonna go to sleep now.  G'night."

"Night!"

Morning comes.  Kaylee wakes up before Lianne, and tiptoes into the bathroom to change and brush her teeth.  Then she sits back down in her bed, waiting for Lianne to wake up.  (Lianne looks so cute and peaceful when she's asleep.  Awww.)

Lianne wakes up fairly promptly, with a sleepy yawn. She's initially a bit confused about the hotel room, then blearily remembers where she is.

"Morning," she mutters, and goes to investigate food options. (There's not much, unless you count granola bars.) "What do you think about getting breakfast out?" she asks as she gets ready for the day. "I can keep an eye out for places on my run."

"Morning!" Kaylee says.  "That sounds good to me.  Want some company on your run?"

"Sure! That'd be great."

She grins.

They set out.

And running is accomplished, and breakfast is done.

"So," Lianne says over breakfast, "I was thinking that in addition to everything, we should do some sight-seeing. Visit a museum or something. So at the very least we can say we did."

"That'd be fun!  Do you know of anything good around here?  I like science museums, personally."

"Hmm... I think there's a planetarium? Let me look it up." And yup, there's a natural history museum with a planetarium, and a music museum (which includes the science of music), which are about it for stuff on or near public transportation.

"Those look cool!  Especially the planetarium."

"Wanna hit the natural history museum first, then? We can do the music museum tomorrow, if we're still feeling like museums."

"Sounds good to me!"

To the museum, then!

It almost entirely covers just local natural history, with exhibits on fossils and specimens of Weird Cool Things found nearby. The planetarium has a schedule for shows, rotating through a couple of different ones, most of them only medium length.

Kaylee peers at all the fossils and the Weird Cool Things with evident fascination.

"Which of these shows do you want to see?  I'd be up for any of them."
