"Building good habits, then?"

"That's part of it, yeah."

"Just be careful who you allow to whisper in your ear."

"Of course, but - I'd rather get good at recognizing bad ideas, first? A malicious actor can whisper in my friends' ears, too."

"I see."

"And I'd rather not patch that by just having no friends."

"You could not listen to their ideas."

"Then what's the point of surrounding myself with people who know things I don't?"

"A fair point. I prefer to know everything."

"I'm not sure that's actually possible, is my problem - and I like to learn about people, first."

"Not possible for you, maybe."

"Well, mom's been impressed with your intelligence."

"I've noticed."

"Think she called you the smartest person she's talked to in decades."

"How flattering."

"She likes you. She talks about you a lot."

"Are you attempting to speed her process along?"

"A little."

"You needn't. I have lived for quite some time, and in my experience, it is best for these things to run their course."

He nods, and shrugs. "I'll leave off, then."

"I appreciate it."

On a different topic, he has some questions about how the Force was used in her day...

Considerably more militaristic and disciplined, to begin with. Treated as a weapon in most respects, even by the Jedi, though they dressed their attitude up a bit more than the Sith. Their philosophy obviously evolved over time, though from her initial investigations, she suspects it was converging back towards the end of the Clone Wars (she has citations to support this)...

Eventually, they arrive at the outer reaches of the Nkllon system. There's a space station where the shieldships, giant mushroom-shaped vessels that are ninety percent heat absorption and radiatiors, take visitors to and from the planet. They comm Luke's ship asking for his slave circuit codes.

He's not in his X-wing or in a different military craft so this one actually has those. What do they need them for?

Fastest way in-system is to make a micro hyperspace jump. Slaving the navicomputers together ensures they'll end up in the same relative positions so Luke's ship isn't instantly flash-broiled.
