"Okay, that still sounds like a solvable problem."

Felix pats Temple's shoulder to interrupt him. "Anyway, I think I will depart around the same time when Henry and Gabe arrive, like, literally, I think I will go in the same transport that they come back, but we still don't know exactly when they arrive."

"Ah, our only plan for the day is take the twins to the lifeforce vault and then have a training session."

"Sounds good to me," Jamie says, happy enough to leave the topic of his sleep issues behind for now. "If the test says we're related..." He looks over at Alex, who nods at him from his place near the stove.

"If it does, we'll stick around, if you'll have us? We'll have to go back to pack up and so Lex can quit, either later today or tomorrow, though."

The Grayward sound pleasant surprised about this. "Sure. Dad will be very happy."

"He sure. I mean, we will. Not to discourage you, but are you sure?"

"There really isn't anything holding us there. We would have packed up and moved on in a couple months anyways. If this doesn't work out, we're no worse off than we were when we got here."

Alex shrugs, "If everything we've been told is true, staying here for a while seems like our best option. Safer than trying to navigate the other worlds ourselves, anyway."

"Very valid point."

"Couple of months sounds doable enough to give you the ropes on not getting lost Elsewhere."

"Pun unintended by Morgan, but definitely intended by whoever came up with the terminology."

Snort.

He nods, laughing a bit. "Sounds good."

Breakfast?

Breakfast! Then they may prepare to the lifeforce vault.

Do they need to bring anything besides themselves?

Some stuff to cast the lifeforce analysis. Also, how about if they flew there?

What an excellent idea!

In that case, they can recruit Franklyn (he accepts) and him, the twins, plus Temple and Aaron may fly towards the forest.

While it still shouldn't be too dangerous, they stick closer to the tree cover, in part to follow the trail path below and in part so Franklyn can check the state of local wild life.

Franklyn! Jamie will bounce up to him and hug him, assuming he's not in the middle of something when they find him.

And then, Flying!!! He manages to contain himself enough not to stray from the group, sticking close to Franklyn to watch as a distraction. How is the wildlife doing?

Alex's eyes follow Jamie, a slight smile forming on his face as he watches him.

"Are there other dangers than the monsters in here?" He asks the other two as they fly through the trees.

The animal life is doing great! It knows Franklyn, small birds will on occasion fly up and perch on the man's hand. And Franklyn explains that they have trained the animals to warn when something is going on, it's limited, but it helps indicate that something needs their attention.

"No huge animals, but we can't, you know, take every poisonous creepy crawler from a forest. There are some markings and stops with cameras to catch people that get lost."

(Alex's summary of Temple's description of Franklyn is finally explained. Franklyn: Actual Fairy Tale Princess. This is extremely cute.)

Do they have signals or something they should learn? Beyond, like, 'if a bunch of animals are running away from something you probably should too'. Also, will the birds let Jamie take a closer look at them or are they shy?

He nods, "People hike around here sometimes?" He pauses, "There's really no stories at all? I guess, what, twenty years might not be long enough to build up a 'forest of the cryptids' legend."

"They don't really hike that close, but close enough that's relatively cheap put up divergences. There are stories from, like, before the tragedy about our family being devil worshipers, and stuff. And we try to be discreet."
