Just checking.

What's their take on the dead Queen and other Elf, the kidnapped five -

...fucked up Arda power struggle thing? They haven't seen the kidnapped people around.

Of course not.

She barely even blames them all things considered -

She tells Nolofinwë that she can convince the more-lightly-supervised mages to learn to teleport if she tries it; the advantage is that then there's teleporters in the picture sooner and they're not, like, inherently evil, the disadvantage is that the Enemy can fuck with their memories to get all kinds of results out of not-inherently-evil -

(- she refreshes Maitimë's memory, she gets lunch.)

My inclination is to do it, I bet Melkor panics and kills them and - if they can teleport and don't remember learning they'll know they're being messed with, right -

Not if they're first walked through some hallucination to explain it and she can put the memories in whatever order she likes.

Maybe ask the Valar if they can prevent mage teleportation -

If she asks them that what do they say -

...yep, they are pretty sure they could do that, or at least make it a lot harder.

...but they don't announce an intention to immediately do that?

No - they'd have to think about it and they think about it for more than an hour.

She reports this to Nolofinwë.

If you want a guess I'm guessing eventually they do block teleportation.

That's my guess too. And then if an Elf mage comes up with it we can't use it without getting a pass from them -

And they're going to be paranoid, one of them died, that's not supposed to be possible.

Would they be this paranoid if Liz had waited for Melkor to be sentenced to death and carried that out?

No, definitely not -

So it's not really about whether it's supposed to be possible.

'execute with permission' and 'randomly murder' aren't in the same category, they wouldn't feel vulnerable to the latter because the former happened -

- beside the point. If she's not having her mages learn to teleport then teleportation is not a strategic priority for her but that doesn't mean it wouldn't be useful to her - maybe even if the Valar did block it in Valinor -

Yes - and if it could eventually stretch to interdimensional -

All I know on that is that psion stuff can stretch that way and that there is some way native to my world to make portals, but safer to assume it can.

Then if I were Melkor I'd be pushing the mages on portals in the hopes of getting to some world that doesn't have anyone powerful enough to oppose her.

They're doing orc reembodiment now unless they lied to me, which is possible.

I'd ask Maitimë, but.
