"The magic material that my wand is made of is a specific material from a specific universe! Not a weird combination of other materials. Also, because there's so much stuff I haven't figured out yet, I'm doing a lot of adding qualifiers even if something looks like an absolute right now."

"Did the material your wand is made of previously exist in that universe and go through a process from there to become wand shaped, or did it get created ex nihilo by your whole shtick and merely is materially and magically identical to the substance found in that universe?"

"Almost certainly that second one."

"What format is all your information in, like, it sounds like you remember being all your yous, but you also know a bunch of stuff that none of them would have known, does that feel like more memories or what?"

"It feels like procedural knowledge?"

"Even stuff like what the deal is with the soul glass stuff and whatnot, that's procedural? What procedures do you know how to do about it?"

"Oh. No, that's more...uh...ha...bit? Like, um, there are songs that I couldn't tell all the words to off the top of my head, but once I start singing it each one reminds me of the next one and I can sing it all the way through just fine. If you had been like 'glass things' or 'soul garden' while I was waking up in front of the castle I would have been like 'what are you on' but then as soon as I saw them it was obvious what was going on. The procedural knowledge bit is, like, how my powers work, mostly, I think."

"Huh! You should probably tour your own pocket dimension at some point then, see what prompts what."

"Oh, yeah, I totally should, just hasn't been at the top of my to-do list yet."

"What is on your to-do list?"

"Mostly at the moment it's, like, getting to the point where I can heal people. Various substeps thereof, etcetera. Right now I could in theory go do that since nobody is going to freak out about a temporary portal inside your home but, like, I can do that when your backlash is down, orienting myself and building social rapport with you are, not exactly urgent but timely?"

"This is gonna take me at least six hours, and that's if June wants to wait around that long."

"Well I don't promise not to get bored or anything but you're also being helpful untangling some of the stuff that's in my brain, I don't especially plan to stop until at least one of us would rather be doing something else."

"That's very convenient of you! I actually do often use this kind of time to conduct interviews but usually they're much closer to an established template and I schedule them in advance so this one is very scattered."

"I'm modeling you-without-backlash as basically, like, like this but an introvert, plausibly needing to go hide in a dark room from all human contact for a while? But, like--the thing about you that's standing out to me is that, like, all your questions are good, you don't necessarily immediately understand what I'm trying to convey but you don't go off in bonkers directions about it if you don't, you, like, immediately re-oriented around my not being a horrible murderkidnapmonster instead of continuing to be suspicious of me, you don't want to genocide the proto-Crickets if there's a better option..."

"Aliens made contact in the seventies and started abducting people! The fact that they come to us in the form of asshole pocket dimensions does not diminish the significance of this eventuality!"

"And proud of it! None of your yous remember anything like dungeons being a thing?"

"Like I think I said something about earlier, there was this one world with people-called-magical-girls and also 'witches' that had evil pocket dimensions with monsters inside, and magical girls turned into witches if they didn't manage their magic correctly. And there were fluffy aliens managing the magical girls to prevent knowledge of this becoming common. Anyway, that's definitely 100% the closest thing I can think of right now."

"Right, I remember now. Was there a way to fix them, once they'd turned into witches?"

"...I don't know. The fact that witches are ex-magical girls was really not common knowledge, mis-managing your magic being bad was common knowledge but, like, we mostly thought you just died of it, I actually died not long after finding out."

"Died died not witched died?"
