"What is going on out there that dooms timelines??"

"I think I would have to remember the undoomed version of the timeline to know for sure, and I don't, but at a guess it would be the evil god."

"Do we need to be on the lookout for more interdimensional visitors who might... be evil gods?"

"I don't think so? The evil god, uh, showed up in that universe through an established importing-people feature the universe had. And only ascended to godhood afterwards. This universe doesn't have an established importing-people feature, unless the dungeons or dungeon-monsters secretly work that way, and it doesn't have an established ascending-to-godhood feature, so...not any more than before I showed up? I think?"

"Man, I hope dungeons don't secretly work that way. Do you have multiverse-travel powers? Can we go exploring?"

"...We can't go exploring yet, I bet I can figure something out, I have a pocket dimension and I can teleport and there's gotta be a way to put those together to get dimensional travel, but the brain manual does not have instructions on how to do that and I have a sort of intuition that it's gonna take a whole bucketload of mana."

"What's the deal with your books, where'd those come from?"

"Those are all books that people who I am have read."

"One of the ones I grabbed says it's a magic textbook, is that likely to work outside of its universe of origin? Do you think they all came through without transcription errors even if you didn't have them memorized?"

"I think they would have come through without transcription errors? The contents of my demiplane seem pretty centered around what I want, and I'd rather have, like, blank journals or something, than reference books that are wrong. And...depends on the magic system, I think? I didn't actually pay attention to anything in that bag besides the soul fragments so I'm not sure."

"Espers are strong but I didn't want to load up on lots of any one thing without knowing more and as soon as I grabbed the soul fragments something was trying real hard to perceive me so I skedaddled."

"Ah. Yeah, uh, I'm not shocked, I'm again not mad, you had no idea what was going on and some very specific priors, but if some less scrupulous person had run off with those and I couldn't get ahold of them again that'd be. Not good."

"The demiplane isn't alive but the castle especially has some...automated systems? That makes them sound more, uh, computer-y and less vibes-y than I think they are, but I'm not thinking of a better analogy."
