"What happens, it transpires, is that within a day of meeting my Bell I develop a crush and then I spend hours every day secretly telling my boyfriend about my adorable crush and the way he plans economic solutions to pressing social problems and invents stuff and quips at me sarcastically and beats me at Governor, and my boyfriend puts up with this because he is very tolerant of me and also because I am entertainingly sexually frustrated all the time, and eventually, having been moped at long enough, my boyfriend decides he is also quite taken with this person and being more forward than me asks him out."

Andi laughs. "...What's Governor?"

"It's a game! It's sort of like Risk but with no dice and you make everything up and it's stupidly complicated and it's great."

"Bells beat me half the time and no one else stands a chance."

"That sounds like a Bella thing."

"I have good reason to expect she would like it! Who wants a chiplocked computer, you can't use 'em in morph."

"Come to think of it we should probably check in Aurum whether it works on Andalites."

At Andi's puzzled look New Bell explains, "There's somebody who can see the future but she only works in one of the worlds we hopped through to get here, so dangerous experiments like brain surgery on aliens are planned there and then they see what she says."

"In that case I'm going to just give you the spells over osanwë instead of having you read them off your chiplocked computers, we can batch things that require Cam's attention. Want to - hmm, want to go to the concert hall and listen to some music while I read hours and hours of meaningless characters at you?"

"This is my dinner slot, can we eat in there?"

"Yep, definitely."

"Awesome."

Food and concert and meaningless letters!

The food will be handed out to them by random people on the street as they walk by: he can recommend some things Bells usually like. The concert is astonishing. The Andalites attract some stares. The meaningless letters are meaningless and there are a lot of them.

After Andi has had breakfast can she dance, or is this not a dancing friendly hall.

She can dance. If she does morph-dancing she'll attract quite a crowd but otherwise she will mostly be ignored.

She's got a show tonight, can't wear herself out. Just regular dancing.

And once they have all their spells they can leave a note for Cam saying we're thinking we should do alien chip-locked computer installations with Alice supervising; everyone is here when you're free and head back to Cube to install a crystal ball and then head to Aurum for the brain surgery.

Cam shows up a bit later. "Yo. Uh, you realize this is not very likely to work naively? The chips were invented by and for daeva, whose brains are shaped just like human brains, and it's dumb luck and/or Erus being not very creative that Elves are similar enough; you guys, uh, would've required more creativity." This one has a tail, look at it go.

Oh good, having a tail makes so much more sense. Though it's bladeless, which is painful to even think about. <How significant are the information security concerns with using the computers we are accustomed to, at least until we have adapted this technology for our heads? We already have translation chips installed, it is certainly possible in principle.>

"You have pretty good security-by-obscurity, I'm not going to pick through your stuff without a really good reason and Epic won't pick through your stuff unless he happens to particularly feel like it and other demons do not know you exist."
