Okay. "So now that you've got a Charp to borrow can you leave Stork for now without being very upset about it?" she asks.

"Yeah."

"And the next time we run into a Maitimo who might or might not want therapy can you not suggest it in front of everybody like that? You don't have to suggest it at all, I'm sure the idea will propagate anyway."

"Is he okay? The one we talked to."

"I haven't assessed him and if I had I couldn't tell you. And just because you haven't made a confidentiality promise doesn't mean you shouldn't think about what people do and do not want announced in front of everybody they know."

"Okay."

"Thank you."

He turns to his Charp and starts asking questions again.

"Kib, can we get a ride to Hex?"

"Sure thing." And here is Hex.

"Thanks so much." The canals are cute. He admires them.

"You're welcome. See you around." And he goes home.

Iobel comes out to meet them presently.

"Hello! Rúmil, Boots, Fëanáro."

"Iobel! Nice to meet you all. The Fëanáros are going to need nicknames."

"This one's Epic. He's announced an intention to name the others." I have not explained that you are one's daughter-in-law.

That may be difficult to avoid if you stay here long or talk to many people. "Fortunately mine has a unique name, I don't know how the others keep anything straight. Even the one going by the Thindarin translation is just a little too similar to the standard."

"I'm surprised the linguistics guild hasn't come up with a standard convention for it. Or maybe they'll come out with one in a few Years, leaving us stuck in the meantime."

"Elves," snorts Iobel.

"Bella frightened Valinor out of its socks just by having humanlike expectations about how fast things should go."

"And what happened to its socks?"

"It put them back on after it had got me out of the way, I think."

"It tried. The protests in front of Mandos were something, but they didn't particularly get anywhere. People are still developing and inventing with wizardry."
