"I can freeze him in place. You are more experienced with chakra traps."

"That's probably a good division, then. Karin will handle any immediate contingencies; she's more likely to notice and be able to react."

"Very well. Are you ready to begin?"

"Yes."

Ellisaria reaches for the earth below her. This is not a complex task nor one that needs to be accomplished with subtlety. The ground rips apart at her command, cracking all the way down to the hidden structure before that wall too is rent asunder. She drops down into the hole, shedding her passengers as she shifts into her human form.

Itachi's Susano wraps around Sasuke again, as Karin hangs back and begins messing with the inscribed techniques and seals Kabuto has around.

Kabuto stands facing away from them, body and head concealed by a heavy cloak - 

"I see you brought friends, Sasuke-kun. It's good my compensation for this war came to me, though," Kabuto says, chuckling, as snakes emerge from his robes. They grow, and lash at the shinobi and Ellisaria with a thunderous crack that shakes the walls.

Frost isn't her strongest school and is never her first resort, but as a five thousand year old dragon, she's still more competent than even an experienced mortal invoker.

She flicks a blast of intense cold at the snakes, enough to freeze the muscles beneath the skin. At the same time, she conjures a patch of magical ice beneath Kabuto's feet that climbs up his legs almost instantly and expands, locking him in place.

Unfortunately for her he is now snakes that are producing a shrieking sound that shatters the ice - and any unprotected eardrums. 

There's a bright light, blindingly so, and the shrieking worsens.

The sound isn't quite deafening, but it does hurt and the ice is cracking faster than she can reinforce it-

She conjures a cloud of darkness to blot out the light, and starts setting snakes on fire.

The snakes turn into water, boil away, and reform.

She'll get a glimpse of Kabuto in the shadows between, a long serpentine form, horned and clawed, lunging for her.

She blinks behind his charge and impales his tail on a stone spike.

His skin splits - and he sheds, emerging whole from his front, then sending a wave of snakes at her and darting towards the Uchiha siblings.

She cloaks herself in fire, and pillars of rock burst forth in front of him to bar the path while smaller earthen hands reach out to grasp and slow.

He speeds up, fast enough to vanish from unenhanced sight, and jumps.

She can extend the maze of pillars into three dimensions.

He turns into a cloud of snakes, which each accelerates fast enough to leave a crack behind and slides through the gaps, going to reform in striking distance of Sasuke, who moves towards him, sword drawn and lightning crackling around his form.

Tsk. It's a melee fight now. She blinks in behind Kabuto and strikes, fists covered in fire.

Kabuto weathers the blow - it does damage, that almost immediately heals. He ignores her for now, focusing his rapid strikes on Sasuke, taunting him about the Uchiha's illusions and defenses not working -

He twists forwards, throws a spike that emerges from his hand through Sasuke's stomach - 

And Sasuke's hand brushes against his forehead - 

And Kabuto goes utterly still.

"Success," Sasuke says, his remaining eye closing.

There's quite a lot of blood on him, between the gut wound and his now bleeding eye.

"Good work."

"Sasuke, I have a question," Karin says, walking up as Sasuke continues frowning at Kabuto. "Do you enjoy making my job harder? Now hold still - "

She sets to stabilizing him so she can pull the SPIKE out of his GUT because her boss is a fucking idiot.

"He blocked off his senses, so I couldn't easily grab him. He was tracking us using nature chakra, and I'm not experienced in manipulating a sage's senses, but I assumed he wouldn't have disabled his sense of touch."

Sasuke keeps the hand on Kabuto's head - and Kabuto runs through a series of hand signs, expression vacant. Sasuke lets his hand fall after that, says, "The Edo Tensei should be dismissed now."

Ellisaria confirms this over the telepathy network.

"Are you going to kill him now?"

"I'm going to try disabling his dead man's switches, first, and seeing what he knows."

"You can communicate with him like this?"
