A quick drop it is, then. And then back to flying evasively.

They both land safely, and Itachi summons her Susano - just as Sasuke arrives on the field in a burst of speed.

Between the four of them and the five Kage, they're able to at least annoy Madara - enough that he summons another five meteors to slam towards the forces opposing him -

Sasuke leaps into the air with enough force to leave a crater behind him - intercepts the one that was on track to hit the ground forces - 

And it bounces off his mirror shield, to careen towards Madara.

Good boy. Ellisaria is providing air support as she can, but there's not a lot she can do about meteors.

The meteor actually breaks Madara's Susano and damages his body... Which promptly reforms.

He's at least distracted by Ellisaria, out of a combination of he's never seen her before, and the strange fire she's producing in such quantities seems equal to his Amaterasu. It's annoying, especially with the two upstarts from his clan adding in their capabilities.

He's still not really acting seriously - this group's hardly enough to threaten him after all, and it's been so long since he got to stretch his legs and arms and chakra.

He laughs, though, when he reforms from the meteor, and calls out, "Clever for a child like you - but toys won't save you, and your generation is no match for mine."

"I wouldn't be so sure of that. Reincarnation is supposed to improve a person."

"What do you mean?"

"You, Madara, and Sasuke here are both reincarnations of Indra, son of your Sage of the Six Paths."

He bats aside an attack from the Raikage, apparently unbothered by the man's incredible speed, and tilts his head to consider her. "That's a strong claim to make. And I'd say I'm disappointed in my reincarnation, then..."

"Isobu knew your original. I trust him."

"I suppose it happens what follows is inferior to what came before."

The Tsuchikage's attempt at a dust bomb gets dispersed and the old man gets thrown.

He's kind of ignoring everyone not actively making themselves a pest; he'd been playing with them earlier, but the dragon's interesting, so.

"You died alone and friendless, a broken mortal shell having achieved nothing of lasting worth. I don't foresee that happening to this one. This resurrection of yours into a body that plays at being more than the ash and clay of which it is made and dances to a tune called by another is entirely incidental."

He laughs. "You underestimate the extent to which I've manipulated events. Who's to say this isn't my plan?"

"That doesn't improve my opinion of your worth, ability, or intelligence."

"You're a tough audience to please," he says, voice amused.

"Over five millennia of life, I have seen more mortals with grand plans than I care to count. You are not even to the first to scheme to have himself resurrected. They all die eventually."

"I'll end all that. The fighting. The suffering. The dying."

"I've heard that before, too. All that means is that you're slightly more full of yourself than average. You experienced some petty trauma and think that means you are entitled to have the entire world bow to your whim rather than just a village or a kingdom."

"Not to my whim. Everyone will have their perfect world - where they can't hurt each other."

He catches Tsunade's punch and throws her at Gaara fast enough she breaks the sound barrier as she flies.

"Lazy as well as egotistic. Unsurprising."

"You know nothing," he concludes, turning away from her - 

And towards Sasuke, whose Susano vanishes as Madara goes reeling back, clutching his head, his own defenses falling - 

And Itachi is behind Sasuke, her Susano already wrapping protectively around him, as she holds something spherical in her hand, oriented towards Madara.

She knows that men like him are easily distracted from paying enough attention to those they consider beneath them. That's enough.
