There's a quick conference of the Kage - Sasuke's clutching a hand over one of his eyes, which is bleeding, and he quickly explains (over the telepathy, with a warning not to spread this) that he and Itachi used a combo mind technique to hopefully subvert Madara. Or at least tie him up in fighting with his own subconscious. 

He's not sure Kabuto can't refield Madara if the Edo Tensei is disrupted by their sealing teams, though, nor that someone sacrificing their life to trap Madara in the Shinigami's stomach is worth it.

Also related, his teams are almost done breaking the Shinigami's seal so even a relatively small delay might mean they can field the first four Hokage on their side, and Hashirama's at a minimum a match for Madara.

With Madara dealt with for at least the moment, she can return to scouting for Kabuto.

There's a hushed argument between Sasuke and Itachi, that ends with the both of them accompanying her and Karin - once they're away from the Kage, Sasuke explains, out loud, "Our plan for Kabuto is much the same as what we just did against Madara - except it requires sacrificing an eye. Me going blind is less of a threat to long-term plans than Itachi losing the capabilities she would when half blinded."

"And what capabilities are those?"

"Her Susano - the force armor - and either her Tsukiyomi - a powerful illusion - or her Amaterasu - the black fire - plus general field capabilities. I plan to have a desk job and not get dragged into any more wars after this."

"I see."

He hums.

She continues flying to the search zone.

"The Shinigami you were speaking of, that seals the first four Hokage, what is that?"

"A deity, supposedly. The god of death. There's a technique you can use, to drag yourself and your target into its stomach, where you'll both be trapped forever, out of the cycle of reincarnation. The Fourth used some variant on it to seal Kurama in Naruto at the cost of his own life. The Third used it directly to trap the First and Second after they were revived as Edo Tensei by Orochimaru."

"And your research teams think they can break that? Dangerous."

"Orochimaru had already made progress. But research often is dangerous."

"Be careful of what you are willing to break in pursuit of your goals."

"There's set - ways of interacting with gods and spirits. What Orochimaru was looking into was old methods, old rituals, that were abandoned when people turned away from 'superstition.'"

"I do not think the death god will be so eager for conversation that he will give up that which is his by right."

"We're generally considering it worth the attempt."

"So long as you are considering."

"We know it's a risk. But it'd be enough of an advantage if it worked to hopefully tip the scales."

"Mm."

He goes quiet, returning his attention to their search - he isn't nearly as keen a sensor as Karin, but he can take the burden of watching the areas nearby them off of her shoulders.

Hopefully they find this Kabuto quickly.

It'll be a while yet.

In the meantime, the war continues raging, and news continues to fly over the telepathy network. The Kage set a guard on Madara, who's still trapped - there was a series of massive explosions tracing between the hideout with the Rinnegan and Rain, where an explosion large enough to shake the earth miles away went off - Konan's missing, the guards around Nagato's body were slain - 

Bee, who chose to enter the field, has some of the Eight Tails' chakra stolen from him.

Naruto shows back up at one point, apparently riding a freed Nine Tails.

Infiltrators are discovered - the white zetsu are able to disguise themselves as anyone past most sensors' ability to detect, a few traits can't be duplicated and those are noted along with a warning that Naruto is the only sensor so far who can tell the difference (and that so far the white zetsu don't seem able to mimic the Nine Tails' chakra).

There's heavy losses along all fronts - 

But, eventually, Karin finds Kabuto.

"How do you want to approach?"

"He probably knows we're here. I'd avoid using an existing entrance - but we also don't want to kill him on entering, since if he dies the Edo Tensei will just follow their last command."

"I can create a new entrance easily enough."

"After that - holding him still, getting him under the illusion quickly so he doesn't have the opportunity to trigger fallbacks - we'll still need to be paranoid about dead man's switches but the illusion should handle forcing him to disable or reveal most of those - "
