"I'm really glad that you forgive me and that I didn't miss anything in the apology, and I'll do whatever you need to help make up the taxes!"

And then she glomps tentatively goes to hug the Eva.

Eva tentatively hugs back. 

"Gosh you're cuddly. Most Erokami aren't, they're more about the sex part than the closeness part."

She smiles and lets go after a few seconds' squeeze. 

"Okay, so let's work together on this. What powers do you have as a Conduit?"

Hugs!

And she lets go as soon as Eva ends the hug.

"Am I really that cuddly?"

"And as for my powers, I'm able to sense worlds intersect, can jump between worlds at the intersection points, I can send my vision across as well instead of my entire body, I've got a personel pocket dimension that's just a tiny cave, I can survive off sunlight instead of food, am infertile as well, i've a got a power that makes me prettier.

Also powers I haven't exactly tested but feel like I have would have were water breathing, improved swimming, improved language learning, something that feels like it'd provide some kind of enhancement but would require me to d-drink water sourced from this world, a power for generating or maybe just acquiring water that feels like it would only function in this world, and some kind of shapeshifty power that feels like it'd benefit from fucking erokami.

A-and I also have a minor one that means i don't need to use bathrooms now."

Eva nods along, refreshing her memory.

Then her jaw drops. "A power for acquiring water in this world? That's huge! How does it work? This whole city is built around the oasis at its center — having the ability to make water matters a lot, lot, lot, here, the whole place is a desert after all. How much water, how fast?" 

"Erm I don't know? I haven't actually tested it yet, though it does feel smallish insomuch as a power can feel like it has a size if that makes sense?"

"Let's go walk out to the edge of the city and try it, then. See how much water it makes. If it's any significant amount then it'll be a huge benefit to us."

"Sure thing!"

"I already packed up the storeroom because I wasn't planning on selling much today." A look of irritation flashes across Eva's face.

Then her smile comes back. "But that's actually good because it means I don't have to do anything but yeet my books into the cavern and then we can be off. Give me just a second!" 

And she picks up the box of books and vanishes. 

— only to reappear a moment later, dusting off her hands. 

"Alright, let's go. It's this way." She leads the way towards the edge of town.

A look of irritation flashes across Eva's face.

Phee weakly smiles and nods back at Eva and follows where she leads.

"Sure thing!"

It's not too long a trip to the edge of town, and Eva seems content not to talk too much, given the lingering awkwardness in the air. 

At the edge of town, Eva points at a spot not too far away from the tents surrounding the glass walls and points at the ground. 

"Try it there." 

"Will do!"

Phee attempts to generate water in that spot.

She fails because that's not how this power works.

Well how does it work then??

Oasis
Water wells up beneath you from the sands-

You need to be on top of sand and the water will come up beneath you.

After her first attempt fails, and after consulting her power on why it failed, she moves to stand on top of the spot Eva pointed out, and tries to bring her water closer.
