Sex and Taxes
Conduits Phee and Eva.
Permalink Mark Unread

After what was definitely just a dozen seconds and not a dozen minutes since she located and started navigating her first external inter-dimensional portal, Phee looks around and finds herself in a bustling marketplace filled with pinky-purple horned humanoids.

And before she can inspect anything else further she finds herself focusing on her new senses pointing out that there was another a short distance that way.

Another condensed intersection of many worlds.

Another soul intertwined with the fabric of this world.

And without even noticing that she had begun walking towards them, she finds-

A woman with purple skin sitting amid a stall of instricate glass sculptures, along with a not-insignificant selection of glass plugs and dildoes.

The woman is staring right back at her, and she makes a small flurry of signs with both hands before she blinks and realizes —

"— Hey, do you speak english?

Permalink Mark Unread

(Phee would be quite flustered and blushing if she noticed the selection of glass sex toys, but luckily she's too hyperfocused on her ?fellow worldhopper?)

After slightly startling at being addressed, she responds.

"H-hi! I do! Are you also from Earth?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Yeah, I am! — okay, I gotta make my local taxes in four days but this is important enough that I should close shop."

Eva gestures to a deep rose pink half-sphere of smoky glass behind her. "Come into my stockroom and we can talk privately?"

Permalink Mark Unread

Pretty! Phee will follow her into the stockroom. "Sure! Erm and if there's anything i could do later to make up for the lost tax progress from me prompting you to close up early I'd be happy to try and help?"

Permalink Mark Unread

Eva comes into the stockroom and sits on a cardboad box full of trashy paperback romance novels.

"Ahhhh, that's a little hard because taxes here are in art or sex. But if you have a creative talent of some kind maybe."

Eva manages an uncertain smile. "I've been here for about a year, one third of my time here, one third of my time on earth, one third of my time in my stone cavern. I have a — problem with how I connect to other worlds, they want me to balance my time among them. And I still need medications from Earth. I just recently had to spend a bunch of time on earth apartment hunting which is not exactly easy when you are purple. It... didn't work out. On earth these days I mostly hang out in public parks and retreat to my cavern to sleep. Technically on paper I'm homeless. And because of that whole debacle I'm behind on my taxes here, which means I might get kicked out of the city and that's a whole other kettle of fish."

She shakes her head. "Sorry, I just... It's been almost a year and having someone I can finally talk to about my problems is really, really freeing. I didn't mean to dump that all on you."

Eva takes a breath. "I still have a decent stack of romance novels, so if I can trade for artwork I won't have to pay in sex, which is... good. I'm still not really used to how oversexed this world is. But you probably have a lot of questions, yeah? Ask away."

Permalink Mark Unread

Phee's brain : you should hug her.

Phee's social anxiety : I shouldn't hug a girl i just met without even asking!

Phee's mouth : "Would you like a hug?"

Phee's social anxiety : wait did you just say that out loud?

Phee's mouth : yes.

Phee's social anxiety : aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

Trying to distract herself from how awkward she almost certainly just made things, Phee tries focusing on the rest of what was said :

"Ahhhh, that's a little hard because taxes here are in art or sex. But if you have a creative talent of some kind maybe."

Phee's horny : I've got no artistic talent to speak of, but I do have a rape kink at least, so if needs must you should feel free to sacrifice me to the Sex Collectors

... That probably wouldn't be productive to say either.

I've been here for about a year, one third of my time here, one third of my time on earth, one third of my time in my stone cavern. I have a — problem with how I connect to other worlds, they want me to balance my time among them.

Phee is really glad she doesn't have that issue, it'd would've sucked so much to have to spend a sixth of her time in flesh world been moderately inconvenient to only be able to spend 4 hours a day on earth, needing to spend another 4 swimming in an eldritch ocean, and moderately inconveint to be stuck in a forest and empty cavern for similar amounts of time.

Permalink Mark Unread

Eva gives Phee a small smile.

"Yeah, I would like a hug. I mean, if you don't mind."

Permalink Mark Unread

... She didn't completely alienate her by saying that?

Yay!

Phee returns smile and gives hug! (And tries her best to ignore that's she hugging cute girl, the way her tits (were they always so sensitive?) are being squished against the aforementioned cute girl because of hug, and the physiological reactions that will inevitably result if she thinks about them.)

"I'd be happy to! If I minded I wouldn't have offered!"

Permalink Mark Unread

Eve hugs Phee gently and then slowly pulls away. "Thank you so much. I... really needed that."

She sighs. "Sorry, we're doing this all out of order. Uh — what's your name? I'm Eva. It's spelt with an E but said with an A — I might not have picked it if I'd known that'd happen, but..."

She shakes her head.

Permalink Mark Unread

Phee returns gentle hugs and lets Eva when she pulls away no matter tempting it'd be hug her closer. "You're w-welcome! I'm glad to have provided some comfort!"

"And it's nice to meet you Eva! I'm Phee. It's spelt with a Ph!"

Permalink Mark Unread

"It's nice to meet you, Phee. Is that short for something?"

Permalink Mark Unread

Small blush. "Y-yeah-ish? I got it from a shortening" and enfemmining "of Phoenix?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Awww! Mine's a short form of Evangeline. I really like those old fancy-style names."

Permalink Mark Unread

"So, I'm sure you have a ton of questions. Please, ask away."

Permalink Mark Unread

Blushy smile. "T-thanks! And neat and Evangeline is pretty too!" Just like you.

"And the first question that comes to mind was what was the most important thing you would've wanted to know before visiting here?

Is there anything about your powers you'd wanna share?

Are there any questions you wanna ask me?

This world is oversexed?

You could use romance novels to pay? Would it help if i bought more romance novels Earthside and brought them here? Wait they probably don't speak English here so that most likely wouldn't work, sorry for asking.

Is there anything that'd help make your cavern more comfortable I could smuggle in Earthside for you? Blankets? Pillows? Tolietries? sources of electricity? I don't actually know if there's any cheapish portable sources of it but I could at least check."

Phee's Cynicism : You shouldn't be willing to throw a bunch of resources at every girl in an unfortunate situation you come across, it'll quickly eat up all your slack and leave you penniless.

Phee's ??? : Counterpoint The first fellow inter dimensional traveler I come across is a valid single digit schelling point that won't leave me bankrupt!

Phee's Cynicism : Counter-counterpoint you don't actually care about her.

Phee's ??? : Counter-counter-counterpoint I'm gonna try and help her anyway.

Phee's Cynicism : ....

Permalink Mark Unread

"Gosh, that's a lot of questions. Uh, let me see if I can get them all done more or less."

She takes a breath.

"Firstly, literally everything in this world except for sand and stuff made directly out of sand is alive, smart, and horny. Even the plants. Even the fruit. Even the water you drink. Most things like water and fruit kink on being eaten and drunk and are parts of larger spirits, so it's possible to eat and drink ethically, but sex is so common here it's practically impossible to get anything done without fucking half-a-dozen random objects. I have to fuck people casually just as a matter of bartering my goods in the market."

The corner of her mouth quirks up. "Fortunately all the food and water here is aphrodisiac, too, so as long as you're still physically able to keep going and emotionally in a decent headspace it's not too hard to muster up the energy, but, like, some days I just do not want to fuck six different people and or objects, some days I'm tired or sad or out of sorts or... you get the idea. I keep a supply of Earth food on hand for those days."

Permalink Mark Unread

"As for my powers, my best one is the ability to borrow a little of the nature of erokami's — the local sentients — nature and bind it into objects. If I defeat them at sex. It comes up a lot more often then you'd think, they try a lot."

She gestures to a small cluster of bracelets on her arm. "I'm trying to get together a cluster of particularly calm and clear-thinking Erokami bound to bracelets to help with replacing some of my Earth medications, but that's hard. Most of them are pretty lusty and emotionally sharp and that's not really what I need. It seems like water spirits are best for me, but they're separated by really long distances and even though I can teleport there's only so much exploration I've been able to do."

She crosses her arms. "I think I also mentioned the stone cave — I have an extradimensional apartment, basically. It's a bit low-tech but it's better than sleeping rough by a long shot."

Permalink Mark Unread

"As for the romance novels, I'm working on translating a bunch of erotic novels to the local language but it's a bit of a hassle because the paper keeps having an orgasm in the middle of things, which means it wriggles and messes up my handwriting..."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Uh, what was next... thanks for offering to bring me things. I'm managing alright in the cavern, it's really the other worlds that cause me trouble. I charge my phone using a solar charger here in the pink desert, or at cafés on earth. There's no network here to connect to, so... A lot of the utility is gone." She shrugs.

Permalink Mark Unread

"I think that's all?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Firstly, literally everything in this world except for sand and stuff made directly out of sand is alive, smart, and horny. Even the plants. Even the fruit. Even the water you drink.

[extremely horrified not yet bird noises]

but, like, some days I just do not want to fuck six different people and or objects, some days I'm tired or sad or out of sorts or... you get the idea. I keep a supply of Earth food on hand for those days."

Phee is going to hug the Eva again unless she seems to object to that.

It seems like water spirits are best for me, but they're separated by really long distances and even though I can teleport there's only so much exploration I've been able to do."

Phee's powers are now giving her intrusive thoughts of unreasonable erotic visions of Eva claiming and drinking her water, which is leaving her very very blushy.

"As for the romance novels, I'm working on translating a bunch of erotic novels to the local language but it's a bit of a hassle because the paper keeps having an orgasm in the middle of things, which means it wriggles and messes up my handwriting..."

"Would smuggling non orgasmic paper in from earth help at all with your translation efforts, or is there a constant risk of objects gaining sentience here?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Also um if you'd like to hear about my own powers I could I share too? Though I only actually realized I have powers earlier today and so most of what i know about mine is just imperfect conjecture based off trying to introspect and get the powers to tell me what they are, but with that disclaimer out of the way I've got a connection with si-five worlds which lets me sense where the nearest places they intersect with the world i'm in are.

I'm able to, with a few minutes effort cross over between the points where they intersect. Alternatively I can sorta just send my vision without my body across to see what's on the other side?

I've also got an extradimensional space but it's more like a small cave that's no tech aside from being smooth and dust free then a low-tech apartment.

I'm probably able to breathe water now and probably have improved swimming ability, but I haven't tested either yet.

I'm probably better at learning languages now.

I'm now a plant, um wait I mean I'm now like a plant, in that i can survive off of sunlight, I think.

Probably one of my powers is making me prettier? I initially thought that was just the estrogen but after ?looking? at my powers it feels like one of them is responsible.

I have some kind of shapeshifty power but I couldn't figure out what it is beyond that it required visiting this world, but now that I'm here it feels like it might be of a similar kind of thing as the drawing power from erokami ability you mentioned?

I've also got the amazing power of infertility now!

And for the last two powers i know about one feels like i need to d-drink some of the water from this world to use? And the other err um uh..."

Phee is blushing intensely, also incidentally Eva might have noticed by now that there's a puddle of water forming by Phee's feet.

Permalink Mark Unread

Eva smiles and hugs Phee back.

"Infertility is such a great power. I wouldn't have been able to survive here without some serious issues without it. My cave is better than yours I think — mine can make liquids, minerals and grow plants, which has been a huge help with my diet. It's basically a three room apartment with a garden area. Kitchen, bathroom, bedroom. I think I'm faster at bridging than you, too."

She rubs the back of her head. "So you're trans too? I had to get my femininity from a bunch of local Erokami, but I got there eventually."

And she nods. "Yeah, I've run out of paper from Earth to write on. I, uh... Someone got... fluids... on my stock and I haven't been able to replace it yet." She rubs the back of her head awkwardly.

Permalink Mark Unread

Hugging intensifies!

"It really is! I haven't actually gotten to use it yet, but I'm certain that not needing to worry about accidentally kids is gonna be great!"

"And it's cool that your cave can do all that! And now I'm curious how quickly you can bridge? And whether you were originally slower at it or if you were always able to do it at roughly the same speed once you figured out how to bridge at all?"

Blushnod, then uncertain shrug at being asked bout tranness. "Yeah! Or well at least like if you modeled me that way you wouldn't make incorrect predictions if that makes any sense?"

Phee is completely oblivious to Eva letting slip that she was the one who got fluids on her stock and responds. "Oh no, that sucks" and not even in a fun way "I could get you some new stock of paper the next time I'm earthside?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Uh, it only takes me a few seconds at most. And I can do it from basically wherever I am in the world, though I didn't figure that out for a few months. It's more a matter of letting go and going for me than a matter of doing it deliberately - it's like I'm strained between Earth, the cavern and here. Here is Pink Desert by the way, the locals just call it that in their language, which is sign."

She smiles. "As for paper, I'd really appreciate that. Right now my balance is naturally towards Pink Desert so I have to stay for a while to catch up. I won't be able to go back to earth for another ten days or so."

Permalink Mark Unread

Here's a very impressed Phee at how quickly Eva can bridge and her ability to do it anywhere.

"That's really cool that you're that good at it! And It makes sense that they'd call it that!"

Smile back! "I'll make sure to get some then! Any preferences on type or dimensions, and how much I should try get you?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Just, like, regular A4 paper is fine. That would be a huge help, thank you."

Permalink Mark Unread

"You're welcome! Want me to head back to Earth to grab those for you now, or would there be anything else we should or you'd wanna do first?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"I definitely want to hear more about your powers, but that can wait until the end of the sales day. For now I've got bartering to do. See you in, uh, like an hour or two? I'll still be here."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I'll try telling you more bout them later then! And sure that time works!"

And then she heads back to where she first arrived in this world and starts to navigate her way back to Earth.

Permalink Mark Unread

and starts to navigate her way back to Earth.

Permalink Mark Unread

navigate her way back to Earth.

Permalink Mark Unread

back to Earth.

Permalink Mark Unread

BACK TO EARTH.

Permalink Mark Unread

So the thing about needing to concentrate on a complicated mental task for several minutes without losing focus once or else you'll need to start over again is that it's actually pretty difficult to pull off in the middle of a crowded market, even if you're not also separately someone who does not cope well with background noise when trying to work on stuff.

Permalink Mark Unread

So half an hour after she last saw her, Eva will find a Phee who's definitely not a nervous wreck, or on the verge of tears (One of the nice things about barely having emotions is that you're never at risk of breaking down crying!) returning back to her.

Permalink Mark Unread

"D-do you know of somewhere quiet n-nearby? I need to be close to where I arrived to access the bridge, but i need to focus to cross it and that's difficulty when it's so markety...?"

Permalink Mark Unread

The feeling of Phee in her senses — the aura of another person who can travel worlds, like her — doesn't go away.

So when Phee comes back looking distinctly droopier the first thing she wants to do is hug her.

Permalink Mark Unread

She hugs her.

It's silly to get emotionally entangled with the first human she sees on this world but come on they both have magic it's clear they're going to be important to each other going forward. No sense in not establishing friendly relations.

Permalink Mark Unread

"It'll get easier in a couple hours when the market closes. You can read a bad romance novel and hang out in the back of my shop?"

Permalink Mark Unread

Needy glomphug!

Permalink Mark Unread

It's silly to get emotionally entangled with the first human she sees on this world

It really is! Which is why she's not definitely getting emotional at all and merely building connections with the other Earth originating magic user. She's not coping, you're coping.

Permalink Mark Unread

"It'll get easier in a couple hours when the market closes. You can read a bad romance novel and hang out in the back of my shop?"

"H-hopefully and t-thanks, if it wouldn't be too much trouble I'll try that?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Not at all! Just, uh, if you hear... noises... out the front door don't come out please. I'm coping kind of hard about the enforced exhibitionism of this world by telling myself that nobody I know from earth will ever know."

Permalink Mark Unread

Crygiggle. "I'll try my best to resist the urge to cum over if I hear that! even if it would be very tempting..."

Permalink Mark Unread

Eva blushes, looks away, and darts back out to the bazaar.

Permalink Mark Unread

D-did she say that last part out loud?

Permalink Mark Unread

The Phee is going to go hide in the stockroom and die of embarrassment distract herself with trashy romance novels now!

Permalink Mark Unread

There are, in fact, eventually Noises from outside.

Permalink Mark Unread

You should go look!

Permalink Mark Unread

But I promised not to!

Permalink Mark Unread

And it'd probably be really embarrassing to walk in on!

Permalink Mark Unread

That would just make it hotter!

Permalink Mark Unread
Permalink Mark Unread
Permalink Mark Unread

While she doesn't manage to definitely decide against going out and looking at what's happening to Eva, her internal conflict at least lasts long enough that whatever was happening ends before she decides what to do.

Permalink Mark Unread

Eva comes back into the stockroom a few minutes later with her hair messed up and a wide smile on her face. She is clothed, fortunately. "Summer just dropped by! — she's one of my favorite customers. She didn't buy much but she promised to advertise for me. Market's closing in another ten minutes so I'm going to start moving my things into the stockroom."

Permalink Mark Unread

She is clothed, fortunately.

Ah yeah, F-fortunately definitely. It's not like Phee wanted to see Eva naked.

Permalink Mark Unread

She totally wants to see her naked.

Permalink Mark Unread
Permalink Mark Unread

"It's good that she promised to do that! Hopefully the marketing helps. And could I help you with moving stuff in here?"

Permalink Mark Unread

Awww, she's cute.

"For sure. Just don't drop anything, okay? These things are fragile."

Permalink Mark Unread

And with that, Eva heads back outside to start packing things in cardboard boxes.

Permalink Mark Unread

"I'll do my best!" And then Phee will help her with packing things (albeit slowly because she's trying to be careful) and then help carry the boxes in.

Permalink Mark Unread

Or at least try, as she's actually pretty weak.

Permalink Mark Unread

She is still a huge help. Eva ends up focusing on the larger pieces, which are the statues and sculptures, while Phee is left with the smaller pieces — mostly dildoes and plugs.

Permalink Mark Unread
Permalink Mark Unread

You should ask her if you can sample her products!

Permalink Mark Unread

Phee does not ask if she can sample Eva's products. Even if she does look like she wants to (And also like she'd die of embarrassment if she did).

Permalink Mark Unread

(Because she definitely would.)

Permalink Mark Unread

And continues to carefully carry them inside for Eva.

Permalink Mark Unread

You should carry them inside E-

Permalink Mark Unread

No!

Permalink Mark Unread

Eva comes back into the storeroom with the last glass sculpture, carefully sets it atop her box of romance novels, and nods to Phee.

"Good work," she says. And her hand darts out and ruffles Phee's hair.

Permalink Mark Unread
Permalink Mark Unread
Permalink Mark Unread

Phee shyly nuzzles into the hair ruffling.

Permalink Mark Unread

"T-thanks!"

Permalink Mark Unread

Eva flushes after a second and pulls her hand away. "S-sorry, touch is more casual here, I didn't really think. You don't hate it?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"it was really nice actually..."

Permalink Mark Unread

The hand returns to Phee's head straightaway in that case!

"Aww, cuuuuute. Earth has a lot to answer for where it comes to touch starvation."

Permalink Mark Unread

Phee blushes harder at the return of Eva's hand, and then shyhappily resumes nuzzling into it.

"C-cute?! A-and t-thanks!"

Permalink Mark Unread

"And I wouldn't say I was touch starved, more just..."

Permalink Mark Unread

"You're just the kind of person who likes getting her hair petted?"

Eva's blushing now, and petting firmer.

Permalink Mark Unread

Blushnuzzle.

"Y-yeah!"

Permalink Mark Unread

Eva pats her head a little more, then lightly nudges her away. "I need to stay with my stock for now, but go ahead and try your transfer again and if you have trouble come back and we'll talk about it."

Permalink Mark Unread

Nooo, the petting has ended!

Permalink Mark Unread

After recovering the ending of pets, Phee responds with "I-I'll go try it again then! If it works this time, I'll be back in an hour then with paper?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Alright! Try to be back within three hours, I've got to move to my cavern after that to keep the worlds balanced so I'll be gone after that till tomorrow morning."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Got it! I'll be sure to be back before then!" And then she leaves the stockroom.

Permalink Mark Unread

And immediately reenters after thinking of something. "I was probably get myself some food while I'm on Earth, would you like me to get you something too?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"I would love that. Nothing with leafy greens on it, I have a sensitivity, but anything from a tuna sandwich without lettuce to a burger would be great right now. I don't get enough meat in my diet these days."

Permalink Mark Unread

We’ve got a piece of thick long hard meat we’d love to share with you!

Permalink Mark Unread

We’re not saying that.

Permalink Mark Unread

Plus it’s too small for that line to work.

Permalink Mark Unread

That’s what she’ll say!

Permalink Mark Unread
Permalink Mark Unread
Permalink Mark Unread
Permalink Mark Unread
Permalink Mark Unread

“Got it! And uh, are there any things that’d be particularly meat dense that’d be good to get you then? I’ve never had meat-“

Permalink Mark Unread

Well technically-

Permalink Mark Unread

Even if continuity of identity wasn't a total spook, it's still not that much of a stretch to consider the entity we have a few decade old memories of being a different person.

Permalink Mark Unread

"At not within the past like decade, so I wouldn't know about foods containing if that makes sense?"

Permalink Mark Unread

Eva's eyebrows jump.

"Oh, you're a vegetarian? Sorry, then I shouldn't really ask you to get meat for me, that feels like I'm going against your ethics. I do miss it but I do feel like it's probably better ethically to not. Could you maybe try and get me a falafel burrito then? I haven't had falafel in a long while."

Permalink Mark Unread

Ethics? Pfftt, as if we have any of those.

Permalink Mark Unread

Hey! you shouldn't laugh at her for being nice and expressing concern!

Permalink Mark Unread

I wasn't laughing at her being nice, I was laughing at the idea of us being in anyway ethical.

Permalink Mark Unread

Doesn't matter, you still shouldn't be laughing.

Permalink Mark Unread

Fine, I won't do it again.

Permalink Mark Unread

Good.

Permalink Mark Unread

"I am, but don't be sorry! It's not really like an ethics thing for me, nowadays it's just because my brain is very picky about what food it's okay with eating and meat grosses me out, but that's not like a legitimate to not get a friend food she's looking for, really?"

Permalink Mark Unread

Wait did we just call her a friend?

Permalink Mark Unread

"SorryifitwaspresumptuousofmetocallyouafriendImeanIwouldlikeustobefriendsbutIwouldn'twanttopressureyouoranything!"

[author's note : she said ""Sorry if it was presumptuous of me to call you a friend I mean I would like us to be friends but I wouldn't want to pressure you or anything!"]

Permalink Mark Unread

Oh, this girl is a mess.

A really cute mess.

Permalink Mark Unread

It makes her want to mess her up a little.

Permalink Mark Unread

Down, girl.

Permalink Mark Unread

You can see it, can't you? The poor thing has the most obvious crush on you in existence. Just kiss her already.

Permalink Mark Unread

Fine, fine, but she'll ask like a gentleman lady.

Permalink Mark Unread

"Actually I was wondering if it would be okay to kiss you."

Permalink Mark Unread
Permalink Mark Unread
Permalink Mark Unread
Permalink Mark Unread

"I would like it very much if you did!"

Permalink Mark Unread

Well, then. She'll lean in gently and press her lips to Phee's.

Permalink Mark Unread

And Phee will happily lean into the kiss and return it.

Permalink Mark Unread

Eva steps back and smiles, a soft blush on her face. "That was nice..."

She rubs the back of her head. "Most fast food hamburgers are fine for me, so feel free to pick up one of those. Just don't get one with lettuce. A Big Mac is fine."

Permalink Mark Unread

Phee smiles back. "It was! And sure thing, I'll be back with it and the paper in an hour!" And unless Eva has anything else she'd like to say, she'll head off now?

Or well she'll take out her notebook and write down what to get Eva and underline the part about no lettuce first, but then she'll be off!

Permalink Mark Unread

Eva smiles and waves goodbye, and goes back to her transcription efforts on the uncooperative paper.

Permalink Mark Unread

Phee returns the wave and then heads off!

Permalink Mark Unread

While being totally jealous of the orgasmically inclined paper being worked on by Eva.

Permalink Mark Unread

And arrives back where she first arrived, feeling relieved when she notices how much less crowded things are.

Permalink Mark Unread

And gets to work on crossing the bridge.

Permalink Mark Unread

And doesn't make it cross on her first attempt despite getting so close.

Permalink Mark Unread

Her second attempt succeeds however!

Permalink Mark Unread

And after a short little victory dance.

Permalink Mark Unread

And messaging a few people that might otherwise be worried by dropping off the face of the Earth to effect that she's A: still alive, B: completely fine, and C: She was somewhere without internet access, D: She'll be there again soon.

Permalink Mark Unread

And E: No she's not gonna explain where, it's private!

Permalink Mark Unread

Then she heads off to get a bunch of A4 paper for Eva, and food for the both of them, repeatedly checking her earlier notes while doing so to make sure that she doesn't mess it up.

And then she'll return to the bridge!

Permalink Mark Unread

Do another lil victory dance when she crosses on her first try this time.

Permalink Mark Unread

And head off in search of Eva!

Permalink Mark Unread

Eva's efforts haven't gone much better than last time, and she ended up playing Simon Tatham's Puzzle Pack from her phone for a while to kill time...

Permalink Mark Unread

... Which was when Summer dropped by to pick up her order...

Permalink Mark Unread

... and her timesense has never been good, as has her sense of object permanence...

Permalink Mark Unread

And so this is how Phee ends up coming back to see Eva on a drift of pillows in front of her stockroom, lying on her side, her cock buried to the hilt in a wriggly, pink-skinned woman with horns as she spoons her from behind and squeezes at her breasts.

Permalink Mark Unread

Phee casually strolls back to where she superpower senses say Eva is. (Couldn't she have just remembered the way back instead of needing to resort to superpowers, someone who started reading her for just that moment might ask? And the answer is No. No she could not.)

Permalink Mark Unread

And then she notices what Eva is doing.

Permalink Mark Unread

This is the hardest

Permalink Mark Unread

And most embarrassed-

Permalink Mark Unread

she's ever been in her entire life. (or at least it certainly feels like it.)

Permalink Mark Unread

And most jealous too!

(Or well the constructive and not destructively motivating version of the emotion, she's poly after all and certainly wouldn't want to deny anyone something as wonderful as being railed by Eva must be!)

Permalink Mark Unread

"I-um-I-i I'll didn't mean to walk in on you while you're you're y-you're f-fu- having s-se- engaging in c-co... things.. i'll just leave you be for n-now and cum- I mean come I mean return later!"

And then she'll run away.

Permalink Mark Unread

And then she'll run away?

Permalink Mark Unread

She does not appear to be running away. Apparently her legs are on strike now.

And her eyes won't stop staring at Eva and glancing at where her she's fu- connected to the other girl.

Summer makes a confused noise.

Permalink Mark Unread

Eva looks up —

Permalink Mark Unread

— sees Phee —

Permalink Mark Unread

And immediately tries to shield her face with her hands.

"Yeep!"

Permalink Mark Unread

The erokami pauses, looks back and forth between Eva and Phee, then sighs and pulls herself off Eva's dick.

She half-turns, holding Eva's hard cock in one hand and stroking it, and signs something with her other hand at her.

Permalink Mark Unread

Eva signs back, obviously flustered.

Permalink Mark Unread

Summer lets out a disgusted sigh and lets go of Eva's cock.

She looks at Phee.

"You speak English?" She calls to Phee.

Permalink Mark Unread

And immediately tries to shield her face with her hands.

How cute, we should pull her hands away and gaze at her beautiful face~.

Permalink Mark Unread

She half-turns, holding Eva's hard cock in one hand and stroking it, and signs something with her other hand at her.

Alternatively we could join the other girl in stroking Eva's cock!

Permalink Mark Unread

Or better yet, we should run away!

Permalink Mark Unread

Instead of giving into any of her competing impulses, Phee remains frozen in place, until the erokami questions.

"I-i um yes? I mean do! Speak English that is!"

Permalink Mark Unread

She looks at Eva, then at Phee.

"Don't just stand there! Either come over or go away. Eva..." She signs at Eva and gets a few more signs back."... can't speak English right now. She's scared for reasons I do not understand. Either come help or let me... negotiate with her."

Permalink Mark Unread

Phee looks back.

Permalink Mark Unread

Phee looks away.

Permalink Mark Unread

She looks back.

Permalink Mark Unread

She walks over.

Permalink Mark Unread

And looking at Eva, trying her best to tell whether she'd want her to go away or to continue her current of action.

Permalink Mark Unread

Eva squeezes her eyes closed and pulls Phee down by her arm.

She signs at Summer again.

Permalink Mark Unread

Oh no, she's so cute.

Permalink Mark Unread

"She says she is very embarrassed and doesn't expect to be able to speak english for a while."

Summer signs back at Eva and they sign back and forth for a moment and then Summer huffs and hands Eva her one-piece dress, which she puts on.

Summer herself remains nude.

"I am frustrated because I was close to coming and I think these rules from Eva's world are stupid. She says hug her."

Permalink Mark Unread

Phee will hug Eva tight at the relayed request for hugs.

Permalink Mark Unread

You should offer to fuck the other girl to make up for not being fucked by Eva!

Permalink Mark Unread

But I'm hugging Eva!

Permalink Mark Unread

So? I'm sure you can manage both if you just try your best and believe in yourself!

Permalink Mark Unread

"I'm not sure how much it'd help, but you should feel free to use my d-dick if that'd be helpful at for cumming?"

Permalink Mark Unread

Did...

Did you just say that out loud?

Permalink Mark Unread

Brb, I'm gonna spontaneously combust from embarrassment despite not being a real phoenix.

Permalink Mark Unread

Eva hugs Phee back for a moment, then pulls away and signs again at Summer.

She opens her mouth, but no sound comes out; she closes it again.

Permalink Mark Unread

Summer is not looking at Eva's signs; her focus has snapped to Phee.

"I like you." She grins. "Sure, that works." Then she presses into Phee and starts blatantly feeling her up.

Permalink Mark Unread

Eva looks away refleively and turns around and goes back into her stockroom, her cheeks on fire with color.

Permalink Mark Unread

Oh no, Eva's walking away!

Permalink Mark Unread

We should hug her!

Permalink Mark Unread

But that'd require pulling away from the other girl, and that'd be really rude when we offered to help her cum!

Permalink Mark Unread

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

Permalink Mark Unread

She's going to moan at the partially novel sensation of being groped by someone else, and she's going to tentatively press herself back against Summer.

Permalink Mark Unread

Summer is more than happy to press back up against her and start working off Phee's loose pants as she kisses her.

Permalink Mark Unread

Phee will wiggle slightly as she does and puts her own hands to work (tentatively) groping Summer's tits, and returns the kiss.

Permalink Mark Unread

Summer sighs gently, gets Phee's pants off, and straddles her, rolling her hips against her.

Phee can feel her aura, a sense of dominant energy washing over her body and demanding that she submit.

Permalink Mark Unread

She'll lightly thrust up against Summer and happily sub-

Permalink Mark Unread

Take that as challenge, in one smooth(ish) motion, hugging and holding Summer's back and moving to gently but firmly push her down.

Permalink Mark Unread

Summer's aura is pushed back by Phee's, and she finds herself on her back in the pillow-drift, legs spread, a flushed grin on her face as she wriggles her hips invitingly.

Permalink Mark Unread

"Good girl!" There was no doubt in her mind that she would cum out on top.

Permalink Mark Unread

But

Permalink Mark Unread

we're primarily

Permalink Mark Unread

subs though?

Permalink Mark Unread

And you misspelled "come" as "cum".

Permalink Mark Unread

I know what I said. And there was

Permalink Mark Unread

No

Permalink Mark Unread

Doubt

Permalink Mark Unread

I would cum out on top.

Permalink Mark Unread
Permalink Mark Unread
Permalink Mark Unread
Permalink Mark Unread
Permalink Mark Unread

Now with those sluts put in their proper place, She'll be getting back to making Summer come.

How does she feel about Phee gently positioning and sliding her dick inside her pussy and then beginning to alternate between partially pulling out and then pushing back in?

Permalink Mark Unread

It feels really good for her being inside another girl for the first time!

Permalink Mark Unread

But her pleasure is irrelevant for today, she's focused on making Summer feel good.

Permalink Mark Unread

Summer moans, and her whole aura ripples; she seems to really enjoy having her aura smothered and pushed down by a more powerful one, though she's rolling her hips already, trying to hasten the pace.

She reaches up and starts stroking at Phee's breasts as well, playing with her body, doing her best to pleasure her back. She's good at the motions, and focuses in quickly on what Phee enjoys. Her slick sex is even hotter than seems reasonable, and she's clenching deliberately too.

Though she seems to be playing the sub, she's clearly not out to make this easy for Phee.

Permalink Mark Unread

How convenient! Phee oh so loves a challenge!

While she'll allow Summer to touch and stroke her breasts briefly, after a short while she'll take hold of her wrists and move to pin them together above and behind Summer's head.

Followed by experimentally adjusting and changing how fast and where she thrusts in and against Summer's pussy, trying to find which actions get the best reactions from her.

All the while keeping her aura smothered down in it's proper place.

Permalink Mark Unread

Fairly quickly it becomes apparent that Summer likes long, liquid, deep strokes over short pumping ones, and having her wrists pinned makes her noticeably tighter overall.

She moans and writhes, putting on a show, making a display of her vulnerability for Phee with the arch of her back. She grins, and struggles... but not too hard.

Permalink Mark Unread

Another horned man passes by, his gaze flicking over to Summer for a moment before he keeps on walking.

Permalink Mark Unread

Phee will switch to long deep strokes after she deduces Summer's preferences on the matter and grin harder when she notices her increasing tight.

And when Summer starts acting vulnerable, Phee will lean down and whisper huskily into her ear.

Permalink Mark Unread

"Unless you have any objections, I am going to bite your neck repeatedly now."

Permalink Mark Unread

Summer giggles hard, and leans away to expose her neck.

"Be my, haaah, guest." Her voice is warm and rich and deeply amused.

Permalink Mark Unread

"Why thank you~"

Permalink Mark Unread

And Phee bites her neck.

Permalink Mark Unread

Repeatedly.

Permalink Mark Unread

Summer's laughter fades away into sharp moans as Phee's teeth dig into her skin, and she shudders beneath Phee, her legs wrapping around Phee's back and pulling her in closer.

"Haaah," Summer visibly blanks for a word for a moment, before proudly proclaiming: "Fuck!"

Permalink Mark Unread

Phee briefly stops biting to giggle and say. "Indeed!" and resumes, while also trying to keeping up with her slow deep thrusts inside Summer's pussy.

Permalink Mark Unread

Summer wriggles beneath Phee's hold on her wrists, but she's completely pinned beneath her aura and even when she fights for real she ends up completely helpless.

She giggles back, and closes her eyes, focusing on the sensations. The hot thickness of Phee's cock fills her quite satisfactorily, in fact.

Slowly her relative composure starts to fall apart, her hot breath speeding and her body rolling against Phee's as little moans fall from her mouth.

Permalink Mark Unread

Phee will smirk even more every time Summer tries to fight and only ends up giving her an opportunity to put back in her place, completely helpless beneath Phee.

And she'll happily continue fucking Summer and basking in the pleasure of her warm folds wrapped around her cock, the taste of her flesh beneath her teeth, the thrill of domination.

Permalink Mark Unread

It doesn't take much more before Summer gasps out high and hard, clenches tight around Phee's cock, and falls back to the pillows with a satisfied gasp.

"Ah, fuck..." She giggles and looks up at Phee, her hands still pinned.

Permalink Mark Unread

When she feels Summer clenching tight around her she's moderately tempted to speed up her thrusting and bring herself the rest of the way to orgasm, but she's not gonna fail at this juncture and instead just keeps her cock hilted in whichever way seems to pleasure Summer the most.

Phee will smile down contentedly at Summer afterwards, glad to have made her cum, then lets go of her hands and reposition to lay down beside her and snuggles.

"That was fun, I hope you enjoyed yourself too?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"That was fun," Summer parrots back at her. She smiles and kisses Phee's nose and cuddles up with a soft mmm, her eyes closing.

After several moments, she makes another gentle noise.

"Mmmm..."

Permalink Mark Unread

Phee beams at having it confirmed it was fun for Summer too! And gentle snuggles.

"Mmm?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"... probably you should talk to Eva."

Permalink Mark Unread

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

Permalink Mark Unread

"That... Is something I should do, yes."

Phee is going to pull out of Summer now and run off in search of Eva. (And at least retains enough of her apparently unitary and possibly even negative reasoning abilities to remember to put her pants back on first and to be gentle about pulling away.)

Permalink Mark Unread

There's no sign of her in the stockroom.

Permalink Mark Unread

Aaaaaaaaaaa

Permalink Mark Unread

Wait, things aren't completely hopeless yet.

If she tries looking at her sensey powers, does she get any idea at all on where she might have gone?

Permalink Mark Unread

There appears to be a bridge here. It goes to a stony place.

Permalink Mark Unread

M-maybe Eva went there?

Permalink Mark Unread

Phee is going to try and enter the bridge.

Permalink Mark Unread

She fails.

Permalink Mark Unread

What did she expect when she's uninvited and trying to barge into someone else's home?

Permalink Mark Unread

That's completely fair actually...

Permalink Mark Unread

Go out and grab her bag that she dropped earlier.

Permalink Mark Unread

Take out the box of A4 papers and takeout bag the food was in.

Permalink Mark Unread

And leave them in the least obtrusive looking place to leave them she can find in the stockroom.

Permalink Mark Unread

And writes out a note.

I'm sorry for fucking th

I'm sorry for screwing things u

I'm sorry for messing things up.

I left the stuff I promised you

the stuff I said I'd get

The a4 papers and a bag with a Big Mac in it should be beside this note.

I'm sorry if I shouldn't have left them here either.

Permalink Mark Unread

And then she'll leave and find the nearest bridge to work on crossing.

Permalink Mark Unread

Summer gives Phee a sudden guilty look when she comes back out of the stockroom.

"She is not there, yes? My fault. Should have paid more attention to stupid rules."

She sighs and rubs her forehead.

"Eva teached... taught. Eva taught me a lot. About consent. I checked if her teaching matched, and that was good, but I think I did not check if Eva wanted us to have sex. She has never had a problem with me having sex with someone else before but maybe this time is different because you are from her world."

Summer shakes her head. "You people have too much rules. Erokami way is much simpler. Want take have."

Permalink Mark Unread

That would be much simpler-

Permalink Mark Unread

but-

Permalink Mark Unread

we're too sentimental to simply tear out the withered husk of the part that flinches when someone sufficiently nearby hurts.

Permalink Mark Unread

"She isn't, yeah."

Permalink Mark Unread

"It's really not your fault. I'm the one who'd actually be familiar with what's Earth like, and I would've been able to predict something like this happening if I thought for even a single second before acting upon the first idea that popped into my head."

Permalink Mark Unread

"A-and it's really good that Eva taught you about consent>"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Not thinking about whether Eva wanted us to have sex, or even if she'd be okay with it was definitely the first major mistake I made today."

Permalink Mark Unread

And the zeroth was thinking you could actually make a friend.

Permalink Mark Unread

"She'll be back. Right now I think she is sulking but I know she's going to want the Earth food. I can give it to her with an apology?"

Permalink Mark Unread

A flash of hope at the thought of Eva coming back.

Permalink Mark Unread

"That's a r-really g-good idea!" She'll rummage through her bag and take out the takeout bag and gives it to Summer.

"This has the food I got for Eva!" (And also the food she got for herself, but Phee did not think of that.)

Then rummaging some more and handing a different box to Summer. "This has some papers I said I'd get her, you should hand them over too with the food!"

Permalink Mark Unread

Summer smiles. "I'll get them to her. How should I find you if I meet her again?"

Permalink Mark Unread

You don't.

Permalink Mark Unread

"I could show you where I arrived from Earth and be sure be back there at some pre-decided time- " every day "tomorrow and if I don't see you again, show back up again in the same place in a week?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Okay. Let's try for noon? Eva should be back by then, her sulks don't last much more than a day usually."

Permalink Mark Unread

“Sure that works!”

Permalink Mark Unread

“Um at what time exactly is noon at?”

Permalink Mark Unread

"... When the sun is highest in the sky? Eva has an off-world time-keeping device but I do not know what it says."

Permalink Mark Unread

She probably should’ve expected the answer would be something like that.

Permalink Mark Unread

She’ll make a perception check to locate the sun.

Permalink Mark Unread

By which she means looking confusedly at the sky, trying to figure out whether it looks like the sun is already past it’s highest possible point, or some time before it.

Permalink Mark Unread

It looks like the sun is starting to set. That direction's west, right?

Permalink Mark Unread

Bold of you to assume she knows the relationship between west/east and where the sun sets!

Permalink Mark Unread

So assuming that the sun is setting because it feels like the day is ending, it should be rising in half a day and presumably would be halfway through the sky after another of a day, so evening would presumably be in 18 hours the?

Permalink Mark Unread

After a definitely reasonable amount of time spent thinking, Phee responds with.

“Thanks for the answer, i’ll try to be back her- I mean at where I exited the bridge by that time tomorrow!”

Permalink Mark Unread

"Alright. See you."

Summer gives Phee a small smile, waves, and ducks back into the stockroom.

Permalink Mark Unread

Phee will smile and wave back!

”See you!" And walks back to where the bridge was.

Permalink Mark Unread

And worries.

Permalink Mark Unread

But does eventually manage to cross it!

Permalink Mark Unread

And then whiles away the day.

Permalink Mark Unread

And worries.

Permalink Mark Unread

And returns to the Pink Desert bridge and crosses it at what should hopefully be an hour before noon. (She's trying to arrive early so that if her estimate of when it is is off she hopefully won't miss Summer.)

Permalink Mark Unread

She finds Eva waiting for her on the other side of it.

Eva looks annoyed.

"Hey," she calls out to Phee. Her tone is flat.

Permalink Mark Unread

Eva!

Permalink Mark Unread

And she's mad.

Permalink Mark Unread

Phee is filled with the desire to run away.

Permalink Mark Unread

Phee is filled with the urge to lay down and apologize.

Permalink Mark Unread

For her mistakes.

Permalink Mark Unread

For being a thought a thoughtless idiot.

Permalink Mark Unread

For hurting Eva.

Permalink Mark Unread

What she ends up doing instead is stuttering out a

"H-hi?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"ShallIapologizeforeverythingnoworwouldyouratherIshutupanddisappearforeverorlistentowhatyouwanttosayfirstandthenstopbotheringannoyinghurtingyouvanishfromhereforever?"

[ " Shall I apologize for everything now or would you rather I shut up and disappear forever or listen to what you want to say first and then stop bothering annoying hurting you vanish from here forever?" ]

Permalink Mark Unread

Eva sighs.

"Slow down, I can't catch all that when you're going a mile a minute."

She crosses her arms. "To answer the question I think you're going to ask, I'm not going to just drop you, there's important survival info you need for this place if you're that... temptable. And I think we can still help each other. The person I'm really ticked at is Summer because she claimed to be my girlfriend and then completely ignored me when I was in the middle of some serious emotional shit to have sex with a girl she'd just met today. I know she's an Erokami and I can't hold her to the standards I'd hold a human but that really stung. We might break up over it, I haven't decided yet, I need to get some distance from the bullshit and think it through logically."

She rubs her forehead. "You I'm mostly disappointed in. I mean, I get it, free sex is really appealing and Summer was right there asking for it, but if you'd done that with a lot of other Erokami you'd be in a drugged haze right now being taken advantage of and maybe even in danger of dying of dehydration from fluid loss. Think, girl."

She shakes her head. "Now come back to the stockroom, I've lost half a day's sales to my argument with Summer and I'm going to need you if we're going to make taxes."

Permalink Mark Unread

just drop you, there's important survival info you need for this place if you're that... temptable.

Y-yay on Eva not dropping us, b-but

Permalink Mark Unread

That does not at all seem like a sufficient reason to have to keep putting up with us for however long it takes to convey the info.

Permalink Mark Unread

The person I'm really ticked at is Summer because she claimed to be my girlfriend and then completely ignored me when I was in the middle of some serious emotional shit to have sex with a girl she'd just met today.

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

Permalink Mark Unread

Just add making her girlfriend ignore her while she was in emotional distress to go have sex to the long list of things we need to go apologize for.

Permalink Mark Unread
Permalink Mark Unread
Permalink Mark Unread

She rubs her forehead. "but if you'd done that with a lot of other Erokami you'd be in a drugged haze right now being taken advantage of and maybe even in danger of dying of dehydration from fluid loss. Think, girl."

That really does not seem anywhere near as important as the risk of ruining what could've been friendship!!!

Permalink Mark Unread

(Social Anxiety is too busy screaming in the background to notice and second what Conscience just said, well thought technically.)

Permalink Mark Unread

We wouldn't have been at risk of dying from dehydration as I can literally create water.

Permalink Mark Unread

well much risk at least, I'm less confident then i'd like to be that the rest of these idiots would listen if I told them to use the water power that makes water when they need water.

Permalink Mark Unread

Technically the relevant ability doesn't create water, it just brings it up from deep beneath the sands.

Permalink Mark Unread
Permalink Mark Unread
Permalink Mark Unread

She shakes her head. "Now come back to the stockroom, I've lost half a day's sales to my argument with Summer and I'm going to need you if we're going to make taxes."

That's at least something she can do without needing to figure out which of the dozen things she's sorry for to apologize for first.

Phee will follow her back in and do whatever Eva directs her to.

Permalink Mark Unread

Once they get back to the shop, Eva hands Phee one of the trashy romance novels.

"Dictate to me the fate of Mr. Richy Richboy and his coquettish fiancee. — That is, read me the novel and I'll write it down."

Permalink Mark Unread

She would ask if there'd be a lesbian novel she could dictate instead, but well look at the state the rest of her is in.

Permalink Mark Unread

And the HP of her relationship with Eva is well into the negatives, and she really does not want to do anything that might be the final fraction of a point that kills it.

Permalink Mark Unread

Yeah.

Permalink Mark Unread

Phee will monotonously recite the text of whatever Eva hands her.

Permalink Mark Unread

And Eva writes, at least until Phee's voice starts getting tired.

Permalink Mark Unread

Gradually, her sulk burns out.

Permalink Mark Unread

"I, uh..." Eva looks up at Phee. "You can stop now."

She sighs. "You seem pretty petrified that I'll hate you or something. You've barely been putting any inflection into the reading and I can tell you're scared out of your skin."

"I'm disappointed, yeah, but it seems pretty clear you know you fucked up. Can you breathe with me for a second and talk it over? I don't want to leave this unsettled between us long-term, and there's important things we need to learn about each other still and... just a lot of things."

Eva manages an uncertain smile. "Like, I'm not going to pretend I'm unaffected by you literally NTRing me in your first day here, but that was a lot more Summer's fault than yours and I'd like to see if we can still be friends. So let's discuss."

Permalink Mark Unread

She stops at Eva's prompting.

Permalink Mark Unread

You've barely been putting any inflection into the reading and I can tell you're scared out of your skin.

I'll add lack of inflection when reading and tricking you into thinking we're capable of feeling fear to the list of things we need to apologize for.

Permalink Mark Unread

I'd like to see if we can still be friends.

Phee would really like that too.

Permalink Mark Unread

So let's discuss.

"O-okay! s-sure of course!"

Permalink Mark Unread

"S-should I start apologizing for everything now, or um?"

Permalink Mark Unread

Eva laughs quietly. "Sure, that's as good a place as any to start."

Permalink Mark Unread

Weak smile at her laughter.

Permalink Mark Unread

"I'm sorry for" entering your life "not thinking about your feelings and what you'd want, for not putting more effort into trying to figure out and keep in mind your feelings preferences when you went non-verbal, for not leaving right away when I walked in on you having sex and instead staying in place staring, for propositioning your girlfriend right in front of you while you were non-verbal instead of just continuing to hug you like you asked for, for not thinking at all about whether you'd be okay with me having sex with her and in front of you at that, for not following after you when you ran away or just moving to stay somewhere I'd be available for emotional venting or confrontation if you decided you wanted that either of which would've been better of me to do then continuing to have sex, for trying to enter your pocket dimension when I went looking for you, for making your girlfriend have sex with me instead of tending to you, for not having more inflection when i was reading that book for you, for acting afraid, for not getting you more papers, and for everything else I should be sorry but am too much of an idiot to remember or think of in the first place."

Permalink Mark Unread

"... I feel like you're apologizing for too many things but you hit the important things."

Eva takes a breath.

"So basically I'm disappointed because you went for the sex when I was obviously distressed instead of checking in. That's a skill to develop, and Summer was asking, but still, next time be more careful. I don't know what kind of background on consent you have but I think you get that was bad."

She sighs. "Once you saw, well, you weren't going to un-see it. So I don't actually mind the staring, and I think it's more Summer's fault than yours that things went sideways with the sex. The rest of it — the reading, the acting afraid, the papers, trying to enter the pocket dimension, and so on — all that I think you shouldn't apologize for, you haven't wronged me by any of that. If I'd had the pocket dimension set to invite guests I would have wanted you to try, and you did bring me paper even when I didn't offer to pay for it, and acting scared or talking monotone is — I think you need better friends if you expect to actually need to apologize for those things."

Eva manages an awkward smile. "So, firstly... I forgive you. I think you were pretty much hijacked by Summer being right there and asking, and while it was bad of you not to check in that's not, like. I don't consider you to have done that deliberately. Summer can be very persuasive when she wants something. And while it does make me feel a little jealous of you that you got Summer to lay you so easily when she was supposed to be my girlfriend, I... don't really endorse that feeling, because it's Summer's damn fault that she cared more about her next orgasm than about me, and you... just happened to be convenient."

Eva coughs into her hand.

"So yeah. Obviously this whole thing is awkward as hell but fuck it, it's the pink desert, if you hung around here for long you were always going to catch me in flagrante delicto. So if you want to make it up to me you can give me a hug and help me make my taxes in three more days. Alright?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"... I feel like you're apologizing for too many things but you hit the important things."

too few actually!

Permalink Mark Unread

I think you need better friends if you expect to actually need to apologize for those things."

Bold of you to assume she has any!

Permalink Mark Unread

So, firstly... I forgive you.

Permalink Mark Unread
Permalink Mark Unread
Permalink Mark Unread
Permalink Mark Unread

"I'm really glad that you forgive me and that I didn't miss anything in the apology, and I'll do whatever you need to help make up the taxes!"

Permalink Mark Unread

And then she glomps tentatively goes to hug the Eva.

Permalink Mark Unread

Eva tentatively hugs back.

"Gosh you're cuddly. Most Erokami aren't, they're more about the sex part than the closeness part."

She smiles and lets go after a few seconds' squeeze.

"Okay, so let's work together on this. What powers do you have as a Conduit?"

Permalink Mark Unread

Hugs!

Permalink Mark Unread

And she lets go as soon as Eva ends the hug.

Permalink Mark Unread

"Am I really that cuddly?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"And as for my powers, I'm able to sense worlds intersect, can jump between worlds at the intersection points, I can send my vision across as well instead of my entire body, I've got a personel pocket dimension that's just a tiny cave, I can survive off sunlight instead of food, am infertile as well, i've a got a power that makes me prettier.

Also powers I haven't exactly tested but feel like I have would have were water breathing, improved swimming, improved language learning, something that feels like it'd provide some kind of enhancement but would require me to d-drink water sourced from this world, a power for generating or maybe just acquiring water that feels like it would only function in this world, and some kind of shapeshifty power that feels like it'd benefit from fucking erokami.

A-and I also have a minor one that means i don't need to use bathrooms now."

Permalink Mark Unread

Eva nods along, refreshing her memory.

Permalink Mark Unread

Then her jaw drops. "A power for acquiring water in this world? That's huge! How does it work? This whole city is built around the oasis at its center — having the ability to make water matters a lot, lot, lot, here, the whole place is a desert after all. How much water, how fast?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Erm I don't know? I haven't actually tested it yet, though it does feel smallish insomuch as a power can feel like it has a size if that makes sense?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Let's go walk out to the edge of the city and try it, then. See how much water it makes. If it's any significant amount then it'll be a huge benefit to us."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Sure thing!"

Permalink Mark Unread

"I already packed up the storeroom because I wasn't planning on selling much today." A look of irritation flashes across Eva's face.

Permalink Mark Unread

Then her smile comes back. "But that's actually good because it means I don't have to do anything but yeet my books into the cavern and then we can be off. Give me just a second!"

And she picks up the box of books and vanishes.

Permalink Mark Unread

— only to reappear a moment later, dusting off her hands.

"Alright, let's go. It's this way." She leads the way towards the edge of town.

Permalink Mark Unread

A look of irritation flashes across Eva's face.

aaa

Permalink Mark Unread

Phee weakly smiles and nods back at Eva and follows where she leads.

"Sure thing!"

Permalink Mark Unread

It's not too long a trip to the edge of town, and Eva seems content not to talk too much, given the lingering awkwardness in the air.

At the edge of town, Eva points at a spot not too far away from the tents surrounding the glass walls and points at the ground.

"Try it there."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Will do!"

Phee attempts to generate water in that spot.

Permalink Mark Unread

She fails because that's not how this power works.

Permalink Mark Unread

Well how does it work then??

Permalink Mark Unread

Oasis
Water wells up beneath you from the sands-

You need to be on top of sand and the water will come up beneath you.

Permalink Mark Unread

After her first attempt fails, and after consulting her power on why it failed, she moves to stand on top of the spot Eva pointed out, and tries to bring her water closer.

And after a few seconds, a puddle begins to form and grow, at a rate comparable to what it'd be if she had an active garden hose left by her feet.

[specifically at rate of 12.5 gallons per minute, after consulting with the conduit discord chat]

Permalink Mark Unread

"Well, it's not going to put the main oasis out of business, but that definitely is a decent sized puddle. Hmm. Do you mind if I put some of that in a bottle?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Sure, that's fine!"

Permalink Mark Unread

Eva pops to her cavern, and returns with a small collection of glass bottles in her arms.

Getting down on the sand by Phee's feet, she captures the water as best she can, trying to not let the sand mix with it much.

Permalink Mark Unread

When Eva begins to slide the first bottle into her water, Phee lets out a startled moan as she discovers the uncomfortable~~ly arousing~~ fact that her water generation also comes with a proprioceptive sense for what touches and enters her water.

Permalink Mark Unread

I was not expecting this to be the first time Eva entered us, but I'm certainly not complaining!

Permalink Mark Unread

Aaaaaaa, i didn't mean to sexually assault Eva by tricking her into entering us, aaaaaaaaaaaaaa.

Permalink Mark Unread

Eva blinks, then shakes her head. "You felt that, huh? That must mean this water's part of you."

She considers the water thoughtfully.

"I was going to drink some of it to see if it had any effects and what the taste was like, but, ah..."

Eva shifts her grip to intersperse the cloth of her sleeve between her hand and the bottle, and finishes filling it, then stoppers it and offers it to Phee carefully so as not to drop it.

"... uh, here. It's... really awkward to be holding a piece of your body in, uh, a piece of my body. I can feel the glass when I'm touching it. Thus the sleeve."

She bites her lip. "Up to you if you are okay with me drinking... that. Uh. Yeah. I think it's a definite possible solution if you're willing to... be drunk... but like, that is one hundred percent Pink Desert being Like That and you shouldn't have to suffer it if you don't want to."

Permalink Mark Unread

Phee nods shyly in confirmation when Eva asks if she felt it, followed by squirming and blushing harder when she hears that she had been going to drink it. (She's also holding her hands in front of lap in the manner of someone who's hard and really hopes it isn't noticed.)

"Um I um, I would be o-okay with you doing d-drinking me-I mean t-that, but I wouldn't want to like pressure you into doing or um whether you'd be o-okay with doing it when it'd almost certainly feel s-sexual for me?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"My own powers are, ah, like that too. Whenever I form the glass it's like I'm, um, playing with myself. It's sensitive. It stops having sensory input when I let go of it, thank all my lucky stars, but... I've been making bottles and things for erokami for months now, so... You get used to it, a little."

She rubs the back of her head. "This would be a solution to my taxes. I could skip town, stay with you instead, drink your water instead of from the main oasis, and be... more or less safe. There are ambushers sometimes out in the sands, but it would probably be better than having to fuck six erokami every day just to keep myself housed."

Eva's gaze skates past Phee's. "That said it would be a... major commitment for you, in more than one way. I'd do my best to help repay you for it but the fact is I'd be drinking... you... for like ten days out of every fifteen. And that's... Yeah. At the current rate I'm... filling up my debt to this world... you'd have to stay for like two years for me to stop needing you. I mean, you don't have to stay for two whole years, but, I mean. If we were involved maybe you'd be willing? I just. I don't know you all that well yet and it's a big chance to take."

Permalink Mark Unread

Phee nods in sympathy when Eva mentions that her powers are also like that.

And spends a while thinking before replying.

Permalink Mark Unread

"I'd be open to doing something like that? or well tentatively or well I'm not sure how to phrase this because I wouldn't really trust myself to be able to stick to a commitment spanning more then a year, let two? and I wouldn't want you, or anyone really to trust their life to me managing that? or force the me of a year from now to keep up at something that I don't know what it's like for them for another year even if i thought i'd manage it fine or even if the me a week or month from now does it fine? But I would be fine with a meta-plan where like step 1 is seeing if I can manage to keep providing you water for a week or a month before considering switching to needing to provide you with water regularly if you'd be able to later gain access to a difference source of water within a moderate amount of time, such that if I ended up wanting to stop eventually or just take a break I'd only be committing to still be providing you with water for another month or two before I could stop instead of two years?"

Permalink Mark Unread

And after shrugging uncertainly and taking a deep breath.

"Sorry if my rambling didn't make any sense?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"I think that makes sense. I mean, if you're willing to try. I don't want to obligate you in any way, it's just, it'd be easier to get by."

Permalink Mark Unread

Nod. "I am willing and I'd like to try to help!"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Alright, then! Let's find a nice place a little ways from the city and make camp. I've got a decent tent in my cavern, and the sand is potential glass in the making, so a nice little shelter for the two of us shouldn't be too too hard. You could even stay in my cavern actually, as long as you promised not to mess anything up too much; I've got to stay out of it most of the time so I can sleep there but you'd be able to come and go freely."

Permalink Mark Unread

For some reason the phrasing Eva used when mentioning shelter is making Phee blush even more.

"Sure! that sounds good! A-and thanks, if you're really okay with me going in your cavern?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"I think at the point where I am literally drinking you daily it is more reasonable to extend some latitude than to not. Maybe I'll regret it but I guess that'll just be a lesson learned, and you seem friendly enough."

Permalink Mark Unread

And with that, Eva sets out across the sands away from the city.

Permalink Mark Unread

Nodnod. "That's reasonable, and thanks!"

Permalink Mark Unread

And Phee will follow along, walking behind her.

Permalink Mark Unread

Eva walks... and walks... and walks. Far enough that the city is just spires on the horizon.

It takes some time and the whole time her eyes scan the dunes, but eventually she stops on an anonymous dune and sits on the sand.

"We'll make camp here," she says.

Permalink Mark Unread

Phee's endurance is not as good as Eva's and she slows eventually, but she does manage to keep until Eva declares they'll make camp.

"Okay!"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Alright, I'll be back in just a minute with the tent."

Eva pops back and forth over the bridge to her cavern, and returns with a backpack slung over her shoulders. She sets it down on the ground and starts unpacking - tent, two plastic waterbottles with water from her cavern, a big plastic bag of good 'ol rasins and peanuts, and a solar charging station for her phone.

"Okay, so..." Eva looks at the assorted items. "Have you ever put up a tent before?"

Permalink Mark Unread
Permalink Mark Unread

"Uh maybe? I've been camping before years ago but I don't remember if I participated in setting up tents, so probably assume I haven't? I'm willing to learn though!"

Permalink Mark Unread

"There's a pack of folding aluminum poles there —" Eva points. " — that snap together into an X; try and get them put together into that X while I get the solar charger set up."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Okay!" Phee will

Permalink Mark Unread

take Eva's long hard pole

Permalink Mark Unread

You forgot the "s"

Permalink Mark Unread
Permalink Mark Unread

Phee will take Eva's long hard poles

Permalink Mark Unread

And after an embarassingly long definitely reasonable amount of time, manage to snap them together into an "X" shape.

Permalink Mark Unread

Eva comes over and unrolls the base plate of the tent.

"Now we just need to gently bend the X so the four corners go through the four holes in this base plate. Then the shell goes overtop of that."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Alright!" Phee will eventually, manage to get the poles into the holes.

Permalink Mark Unread

And Eva throws the shell over and clips it into place.

It's a two-person tent; Eva had wanted something with some space to move in. She gets out a pair of inflatable cushions from her pack, as well as a few books, and tosses them into the tent.

"There we go. I'm out of propane for my camp stove, but it's okay; I do most of my cooking in the cavern world these days anyway. I don't plan to sleep here, so no need for the air mattress or my sleeping bag."

She looks over at Phee. "You've got to stay alert out here, just in case, but I can teleport and you can stay in my cavern, so we're both relatively safe. The biggest danger is that something might ruin my tent or my solar charger, really. I have a big breakfast in the morning and a big supper in the evening most days, and munch on gorp and snack bars to substitute for lunch. Usually I use up my water from my cavern by noon, and I tried dipping in for a lunch break but my planar balance hated it long-term. So I end up using native water for the back half of the day. That usually gets me in the frame of mind to sculpt, so I do that in the afternoon and evening. Or have sex with Erokami that I need to for practical reasons."

She shrugs and smiles. "It's not much. Mostly I read and play offline phone games I downloaded on Earth. But it's not terrible, either. I wouldn't sleep out here but during the day it's generally safe enough."

Permalink Mark Unread

Phee will down on and thank Eva for one of the inflatable cushions, and nod along as she talks.

"Understood! May I ask what sculpting is like? And um, would you like a hug? It's of course if no to either or both!"

Permalink Mark Unread

"... I would appreciate a hug, yeah. And sculpting is... It's an art but it's also masturbation, let's put it that way. It's like if you could make something beautiful by, ah..." She rubs the back of her head. "You know."

Permalink Mark Unread

Hug!

”O-oh, I probably should’ve expected it’d be something like that considering everything about this world…”

Permalink Mark Unread

"I mean, it's like you're sculpting clay except the clay is also your dick. It's... like that."

Eva chuckles and passes Phee a romance novel. "Anyway, that's not going to happen today. I did extra runs to the cavern so I can do water and so on."

Permalink Mark Unread

"So, like, who are you? How'd you end up in this situation? What was it like for you? Did you have a good life on Earth, or is it better for you to live out here? Inquiring minds want to know."

Permalink Mark Unread

Phee will accept the novel and then ramble, attempting to answer Eva.

"Gaining powers for me was kind of a gradual thing at first, I think? At first instead of the usual stuff, I'd dream about I started having dreams that were alot more detailed and which I remembered much vividly then I usually would when I'd wake up, and in hindsight they were probably dreams of the worlds I'm connected to? As some of them were clearly about the Pink Desert, and some were about Earth or my cavern, so I'm presuming the other three varieties were about other worlds as well.

And then I started gaining powers gradually I think? Though initially they were all just subtle things that I just chalked up to other stuff when they happened, like instead of noticing I had gained the prettiness power I had just assumed estrogen was being alot more effective for me then it was. Or they were stuff that would require entering conditions which I didn't have encounter, or were stuff that would require being like actively activated, which I didn't think to do until much later, though I'm kinda assuming the powers in the later two categories also came in gradually? As i didn't in fact notice when I initially got them.

Anyway eventually I got a power with blatant enough passive effects that it prompted to me wonder if I had other powers as well now, and wondering on that prompted? triggered? activated? the feedbacky parts of my other powers into providing visions of using them slash what they could be used for.

And after that I'd started writing down a list of what the different powers were, and after consulting it and deciding which to test first, I tried plane shifting into my cavern, and only partially succeeded as I only sent my vision across, but on my second attempt I managed to get across. And then I decided to try finding a spot I could enter the desert from because some of my powers felt like I needed to visit it to use, and after that doing I met you."

And then she's gonna take a brief break from speaking because she just said a lot of words.

Permalink Mark Unread

"Gosh, you really are new then, aren't you? I'm glad you ran into me, working together on this stuff is much better than going it alone."

Eva smiles and reaches over and lightly pats the Phee.

"Do you have any hobbies? I write when I can, though it's been harder lately. I guess you could say I've developed a hobby of making glasswork too. I've always been kind of an artistic person, I guess."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I guess I am? And I'm glad I met you too!" Phee lightly nuzzles into the pats, and shrugs.

"I-not really? I mostly spent my time split between reading, listening to music and playing video games, not really anything productive aside from arguably the occasional youtube math video. And it's cool that you write! A-and I'd be interested in seeing if there was any art, whether writing or glasswork you'd wanna share? And um I've tried writing myself before but always ended up stalled within the first few words."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Aww. Well, maybe we can try and write together at some point. I wasn't any good at it before coming out here gave me a lot of time to think. I've been practicing. I don't know if I'm still any good though."

She smiles. "Any books you particularly liked? What kinds of music and video games?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Quite a few but I'm not sure how to explicate what I liked about them beyond that gay girls good, or time loops fun, albeit horrifying. And in terms of music, alot of videogame and anime soundtracks, miscellaneous stuff, rock, metal, symphonic rock, other things i don't know the terms for. and like for videogames, lots of 2d platformers, lots of origami-maria[1]-likes, particularly the ones with a focus platforming and being able to get the various abilities in a lot of different orders? Also pretty games in general are good. Also occasionally and complicatedly puzzle games as they can be really satisfying to solve, but also more often drive me mad with frustration, or sometimes both."

[1] In this Phee's Earth, Mario is instead a girl named Maria, the first few paper mario games were called origami maria, and eventually evolved into and inspired a genre like what OTL knows as metroidvanias.

Permalink Mark Unread

"Origami-maria-likes?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"I definitely agree that gay girls good though. Did you ever see that one show, what was it, 'Getting To Know Grace'? It was huge in Korea."

Permalink Mark Unread

Nodnod. "They really are! And I haven't heard of that, I don't really watch shows much, which website could be it watched on? And Origami-Maria-likes were well, to explain that I'd first need to explain the original Origami-Maria which itself a spinoff of the ever popular Hyper Maria Sisters-"

Permalink Mark Unread

"I don't recall, there's so many streaming services these days. I think maybe Kintube? But go on."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Understandable, personally I just eat the high price of streaming everything from Alexandria[1] instead of tracking down whichever specific site they're licensing from, anyway! So Origami Maria's most immediately obvious difference compared to it's predecessors was that it the artstyle was based off paper origami instead of the pure pixel of previous Maria games, however that was not the only difference as it also had the gradual acquisition of new and unique abilities that were gained while playing through the story, which were unique and had different applications in combat and exploration and opened up new areas, and often themed around the origami artstyle and were gotten through specific befriending and aquiring of party members.

also according to a bunch of people with more refined literary taste then my "they cute girls who are totally fucking"  the characters were also deep and complex and had engaging stories, especially compared to previous games."

[1] The library of Alexandria didn't burn down in this Phee's timeline, and at some acquires the legal right to receive, copy, archive and distribute copies of all books/movies/shows, and while they do need to pay expensive license fees for distributing recently released, they're still one specific easily accessible site with every book/novel/tv show/etc saved and available.

Permalink Mark Unread

"Aww, I bet they have the best cast of characters! It'd be cool to play them sometime. Then again I don't have any consoles and no TV, so..." She shrugs.

Permalink Mark Unread

Hugs?

"Yeah! I'd offer to bring over my copy but no console would get in the way of playing though... I could maybe bring you to over to my apartment earthside once you've no longer need to spend most of your time in your cavern and here and if you trust me more then?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"I mean, if you were okay with inviting me over to your Earth-side apartment that would be a lot better than having to spend all my time in cafes and libraries. That would be... a real help to me, to be honest."

Permalink Mark Unread

"I probably should've thought of that, I'd be fine with having you staying in my apartment! Though uh it's kind of a mess, and I'm stupidly OCD and bothered by attempts from others to fix that but if that wouldn't be worse then cafraries I'd be happy to have you over!"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Hee, Cafraries. I will try my best to not disturb your circles, wise Pythagorea."

She pats Phee on the head.

"Let's talk some more for now, though. So... What consoles do they have in your world?"

Eva's willing to make small talk for a while. She's got nothing else better to do.

Permalink Mark Unread

"Sure!" And then will ramble on about consoles and any other topics that come to mind for however long Eva wants to talk.

Permalink Mark Unread

Eva, it turns out, is pretty starved for Earthly company. And hearing about another world she hasn't been to is fun.

Also, once she gets started on a topic she has a tendency to infodump. The topic she appears to have settled on is lesbian representation in media.

Permalink Mark Unread

Cute! Phee will happily snuggle and listen to the Eva infodump on lesbian representation.

Permalink Mark Unread

The snuggles get a small blush out of Eva and a fond look.

"You know," she says. "If you... wanted... to have sex with me... you could just ask. Just so we're clear. I'm pretty desensitized by now after the life I've been leading and it seems pretty clear you could use it. And, like... I'm going to be shaping glass near you. It's kind of inevitable we'd end up entangled if this works out."

Permalink Mark Unread

Phee blushes and smiles back.

"I suppose that is inevitable if things work well, yeah."

Permalink Mark Unread

Emphasis on "if".

Permalink Mark Unread

"And I would wanna have sex with you, and will probably take you up on that and ask if we could fuck sometime! It just also feels like... like I maybe see if I can at least go a week without causing... things... before asking about sex? If that makes even a modicum of sense?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"Yeah, I totally understand."

Eva smiles and rests her hands in her lap.

"In that case I won't sculpt glass right now, just for your comfort in the settling in period. And we can figure more things out once it's been a few weeks, yeah."

Permalink Mark Unread

Smile back.

"Thanks for understanding! You're very nice and good."

Permalink Mark Unread

"It's no trouble. I'm going to read, then. I'll be okay till nightfall. You can hang around or not, it's up to you."

Permalink Mark Unread

Phee nods. “Okay! I think I’ll just hang around and read something too!”

And then she has a look at the novel Eva passed her earlier.

Permalink Mark Unread

Eva passes her a different book. "Actually have a look at this one, it has more lesbians. I've been writing what sells, not what I personally like."

It appears to be a story about the training and education of a female courtesan.

Permalink Mark Unread

"Thanks! And tis unfortunate that what you'd like isn't also what would sell."

Phee is gonna hug Eva again unless she's seems opposed, and then she'll happily about gay courtesan training.

Permalink Mark Unread

Eva hugs back, and goes back to playing puzzles on her phone.

Permalink Mark Unread

The sun slips lower and lower in the sky.

Permalink Mark Unread

And will sit companionably nearby and reading until she's notices things getting darker and that it's almost sundown.

"I should probably get going and head back to Earth now unless you'd be fine with me staying the night in your tent and/or cavern?"

Permalink Mark Unread

Eva's been sipping her water to keep the heat off, and looks up with a smile. "Yeah, I should pack up too. You're welcome to come to my cavern for the night if you want; I wouldn't advise sleeping outside in Pink Desert."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Thanks! I'll take you up on that then, and would you like help packing your stuff up?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"I'd love that, thank you. I'll get the solar charger and you can take down the tent? It's not too complex, you just reverse what you did to put it up."

Eva puts her books back into her backpack and pulls it out of the tent.

Permalink Mark Unread

"Will do then, and you're welcome then!" Phee will slowly and carefully take down the tent once Eva leaves it.

Permalink Mark Unread

Eva breaks down and stows the solar charger, then puts it into her pack and comes and helps out with breaking down the tentpoles back into their bag.

"Thanks a lot," she says. "You've really gone out of your way for me already, and I want you to know I appreciate it. Despite, you know." She rubs the back of her head.

Permalink Mark Unread

"You're welcome! am glad to be of help and to make up for the thing..." Bashful shrug.

Permalink Mark Unread

"Do you mind going ahead to my cavern before me? It'll save time on my waiting for you to meditate through."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Sure!" And then she'll spend a few minutes focusing on entering Eva's cavern.

Permalink Mark Unread

"Sure!" And then she'll... focus... on entering Eva...

ftfy.

Permalink Mark Unread

Eventually she pops into a stone-carved bedroom with a circular bed, a glass vase of fresh roses on the side table with a dildo lying against it, and a large number of pillows scattered all over the floor. There's bookshelves by the bed, crammed full of yuri manga and manhwa, and three doorways: one goes to a kitchen, another goes to a fairly palatial bathroom, and a third goes to an indoor garden with a small pond.

Permalink Mark Unread

Eva appears a moment after her, and flops onto the bed with a smile.

"So," she says. "Welcome to my cozy little place. I don't know if it'll make a bedroom for you or not, but there's plenty of floor cushions so someone can sleep there if you're not cool with sharing the bed. Care for supper?"

Permalink Mark Unread

Phee looks around admiringly at Eva's cavern once she arrives.

"It's a very cozy looking place!"

Permalink Mark Unread

And then she notices the dildo just lying out on a table.

Permalink Mark Unread

She's just gonna try and ignore that and respond to the rest of what Eva said.

"I'd be fine with sharing the bed iff you'd be fine with it? Or just sleeping on the floor if not. And uh..."

Permalink Mark Unread

"A solid maybe on supper? If like you were offering out of concern for whether I'd go hungry without or just like hostly obligation, you shouldn't because I've got a power that" probably "means I can just survive off sunlight, but if you were offering out of like ?friendship building? I would wanna accept but well my brain is really picky about what foods it finds enjoyable to eat and finds most others to be bleh at best  and I'm noticing now that'd it be really objecting to the prospect of eating any food in the latter category now that that's a policy that wouldn't result in me starving and is worried because if I said yeah to supper and then it turned out that you didn't have any food it's fine with I wouldn't wanna turn around and reject what was offered but i also wouldn't wanna possible end up forcing myself to eat something bleh now that's it no longer something that I'd inevitably have to do just to avoid starving anymore?"

And after taking a moment to breath. "S-sorry if none of that made any sense?"

Permalink Mark Unread

"It's okay, I have food sensitivities too. I suck at leafy vegetables, they literally make me upchuck. How about you have a look at the garden and pantry and you can tell me if there's anything there that works for you? The last thing I want to do is insist you eat if you don't want anything on offer."

Permalink Mark Unread

"T-thanks! I'll do that then." And she'll head off to have a look at the garden + plus pantry.

Permalink Mark Unread

The garden is crowded with berry bushes; strawberries, blackberries, raspberries, blackberries. There's also a vine of grapes growing, some ears of corn and pea-pods, some onions and carrots in the ground, and a small tomato bush. There is also, incongruously, a pineapple bush.

Along the back wall there's a row of taps, each labeled with a small hand-lettered sign. There's cola, water flavorings, milk, coffee, a couple for chocolate, vanilla and strawberry syrups, another for (melted) vanilla milkshake, various flavors of yogurt drink, one for egg yolk, and one for egg white.

The pantry over in the kitchen is full of canned and packaged goods: canned chili, canned tomato soup, fruit salad, blocks of ramen, spaghetti and spaghetti sauce, cans of tuna and salmon, bread, potatoes, honey-flavored breakfast cereal, raisin bagels. Some baking supplies too - flour, sugar, salt, baking powder. There's also several packaged spice mixes that are unfamiliar to Phee.

There's a chill-well of running cold water in the bottom of the pantry which currently holds sealed packages of chicken breast and yogurt, a block of cheddar cheese, already-opened jars of salsa, mayo, relish and peanut butter, several motley glass jars of jam that look hand-made, and an already-picked tomato.

Permalink Mark Unread

After first asking Eva bout where she kept her glasses/other drink receptacles, she makes use of the milk, chocolate syrup, vanilla milkshakes in combination and then after consulting her co-author rooting around more, discovers s'mores supplies.

”Oh! You’ve got stuff for s'mores!, I haven’t had them before.”

Permalink Mark Unread

"We'll have to do them over the stove, but they're great. They never fail to make me feel a little better after a long day."

Permalink Mark Unread

Hug?

”I’d like to try them!”

Permalink Mark Unread

Hug!

"Alright, let me get them on the stove then and you can try them!"

Eva picks up the box of graham crackers, the bag of marshmallows, and the bag of chocolate chips and carries them all over to the kitchen counter. Getting out a frying pan, she places four graham crackers on it, then places a marshmallow on two of the crackers and covers the other two with chocolate chips. Then she puts the whole pan on the stove and lights it.

"There we go," she says with a smile. "They should be ready pretty fast."

Permalink Mark Unread

The Phee bounces in anticipation while she waits for them to be ready.

Permalink Mark Unread

Awww, she's cute

Permalink Mark Unread

Eva waits for the marshmallows to melt and crisp a bit, then carefully flips them over onto the chocolate chips along with their graham cracker tops.

She plates the smores on a simple pink glass plate and passes it over to Phee, keeping her sleeve between her hand and the glass.

Permalink Mark Unread

“Thanks!” Phee carefully accepts the plate then moves to find a table or other solid surface to lay it on, then tries her first s’more.

Permalink Mark Unread
Permalink Mark Unread

After savouring the way the melted marshmallow and chocolate intermingle on her tongue, Phee eventually finishes her first one and says.

“They’re really good!”

Permalink Mark Unread

"I'm really glad! I'm going to make myself a simple burrito for my own supper, up to you if you want any. Cheese, chicken, diced tomato, salsa."

Permalink Mark Unread

“Thanks for the offer but I’m fine! Hopefully you enjoy it.”

Permalink Mark Unread

"I usually do. This is one of my tried and tested recipes. Took a few tries to do it over the stove, but it works."

And Eva starts to putter away at making supper.

Permalink Mark Unread

“That’s good!” And Phee will be nearby and watch the Eva making food, unless she seems to want the Phee to stop?

Permalink Mark Unread

No, that's perfectly acceptable. Eva seems to be the kind of person who likes companionable silences in between her infodumps.

After a few tosses of the burrito mix in her frying pan, Eva pours it all out into waiting tortillas and plates it. She comes over to where Phee is waiting, gives her a smile, and digs in.

Permalink Mark Unread

Phee smiles back!

Permalink Mark Unread

And when Eva’s done eating, blurts out.

”You’re very cute.”

Permalink Mark Unread

"Awwww, thank you! I mean, I try. The new body helps."

Permalink Mark Unread

“You’re welcome! And it v cute body too.”

Permalink Mark Unread

"Thanks, I made it myself." Eva flashes a warm smile and runs a hand through her hair. "So, usually at this point I go pretty much directly to bed. Sometimes I read in bed a little. It's just that the less time I spend in here awake, the more I get to pop in and out during the rest of my time, you know? So I try to only eat and sleep in here."

Permalink Mark Unread

Light giggle and return smile and nodnod.

"That make sense! Hopefully you sleep well or if you're gonna be reading for a bit, enjoy it? And um shall I join you in bed or um if you changed your mind on being fine with sleeping with me i can just use the floor..."

Permalink Mark Unread

"If you don't mind I don't mind. I've been in far more embarrassing situations in the past year."

Eva smiles and heads back towards her bedroom, where she kicks off her shoes and gets into bed still fully clothed.

"Night, Phee."

Permalink Mark Unread

"Alright! And I'm slightly tempted to ask you another those situations another time but it'd be completely reasonable if you wouldn't want to share...?"

And Phee will follow her to bed, though undressing slightly more beforehand and taking off her shoes, socks and hoodie before getting in.

"Goodnight Eva."

And then she'll try to sleep and not be distracted by intrusive about the fact that this is the first[1][2] time she's slept in the same bed with a girl.

[1] Continuity of identity is a spook so the couple memories she has of being a kid stuck sharing a bed with her sister do not count.
[2] And even if it wasn't, those times wouldn't have counted because having an incest kink does not proffer an immunity to the westermarck effect.
