"You'd feed it vocabulary and when it guesses on grammar you correct it."

She will teach the computer her alphabet! It is mostly made up of little circles clustered different ways.

And Cam will teach her to teach it other things and set it up with the corpus so she doesn't have to do all the work.

She will do these things. "This is really cool."

"No, by the time it wants you to identify fruit and specific sorts of clouds we should be good to talk to people."

"Okay." She keeps working on it and at some point it will reach that point.

"Translationwise, sure, do we have a plan?"

"We have ten years of generalized plans, one of the things I'm curious about is how they actually work. I am thinking "notify the government that we are here and that we came from another planet, of which there are lots, and that we'd like to have cultural exchange and trade and learn from each other, talk each country into giving us a couple square miles of farmland or something for an embassy, make it a very nice very dense city and announce that anyone is welcome to come hang out in the embassy, then lay down infrastructure and hospitals for cooperative governments -"

"This is going to be quite the investment of time for Imliss and Idaia."

"Yep, and we won't usually have a couple local experts but we will be able to leave a team of people."

"Suppose once we know more locals we can get them doing shifts."

"I'm trying not to make the plans lean too hard on finding and winning over lots of competent locals very quickly because I won't always be doing it personally but it's so much fun!"
