The boys are home first. 

"Hey. Stiles says everything is set up." 

"Cool. What do I need to know about that?"

"Here's your record as a substitute teacher- memorize what you've done so far. Your name is Ellie Yanna, but that part is easy to redo if you don't think Stiles is as funny as he does. We can't get you a car on such short notice, but my mom can give you rides without it looking too suspicious."

"I've already introduced myself as Pascale to some people. Might be better to keep that name."

"I'll get him to change it. Do you care what your last name is?" 

"Not really!"

"Alright. I'll call Stiles. Isaac can work on preparing you. Uh. I think he's outside." 

Isaac comes inside, when Scott checks on him. 

"Hey. What are we doing?" 

"Yeah. I'm going to call Stiles, you and Pascale can study her fake backstory. Do you want to talk about anything?" 

"Hmm? No, we should get to cramming. Making a teacher study really appeals to my inner student." 

"Uh, I do have perfect memory, you know."

"Fine, ruin my fun with reality. Should I leave you to it?" 

Pascale puts on a serious face.

"I'm sure you have homework of your own, young man. Best to do it sooner than later."

"If you insist, milady."

He bows deeply, and goes upstairs.

Scott is still on the phone. 

Time for a look at this backstory, then.

There's plenty in here about her decision to major in education after a teacher's timely intervention turned her away from a life of petty theft. 

Huh. Not even that far off from her true life story, modulo some differences between this world and her own.

She should be able to play this convincingly.

There's not much else, besides that she is most knowledgeable about math and science; her knowledge of history is spotty at best, and she should not be allowed near that subject.

Yeah, okay. Probably a good idea.

Melissa arrives.

Scott, apparently no longer on the phone, helps her with the groceries.

Pascale goes to assist as well.

"Thanks boys- uh, thanks, Scott and Pascale. Is Isaac studying? Please tell me the boy is finally studying?"

"He went up to his room when I said he should go do homework, at least."
