"No, I'll be fine, thank you."

She'll be off, then.

Scott makes his way down next.

"Hi. Did you sleep well?"

"I did, thanks for asking! How about you?"

"Not bad. Should I text Stiles to find out how Project Substitute Teacher is going?"

"He said it wouldn't be ready until tomorrow, didn't he?"

"He did, but it might be worth checking that it's on track. I'm worried about him and his dad. Their relationship has been strained lately, and I don't think hiding illegal activity helps."

"Sounds like a good idea, then."

Scott makes a call. Pascale is free to eavesdrop, but she can also just look around.

She'll eavesdrop. But subtly.

"...but no, she seems okay...Stiles, we're not doing that! She's not an alien spy, everything is fine... She said he already met her, you could...I know, but...it's different, but he's your dad...okay. Keep me posted."

"Okay. Still not ready, and we don't have his dad's help. We can probably still set it up by tomorrow."

"Okay, cool." She pauses. "You could technically say I am an alien spy, given that I'm not from this country and am trying to learn what I can while I'm here."

"I guess you are. Try not to perform too many experiments on us, might ruin your chance at seeing us in our natural setting."

"I'll be careful not to! Have fun at school today."

The boys finish getting ready and go to school.

She has the run of the house.

Pascale settles down to go through more books on the couch.

Until a pigeon taps on the window.

Pascale gets up to let it in, then sends her goddess scenes of everything important that's happened so far.

And then the pigeon flies off again, to pay a visit to Dr. Deaton.

Dr. Deaton is with a patient.

The patient is a dog, so he's probably interruptible.

Someone will need to let the avatar inside. It can't open doors, it's a pigeon.

It knocks politely. Taptaptap.

He seems befuddled by the pigeon, but opens the door.

It hops inside.

"Hello, doctor," it says. The voice is much more complex than a pigeon's has any right to be, layered with all the languages he speaks and more besides yet remaining perfectly comprehensible. "I am Ellayania. I believe my acolyte mentioned I would pay a visit when she was here yesterday. Thank you for helping her."
